Boston Government Services has a need for a Bioenergy Technical Project Monitor/Engineer II.

The Bioenergy Technical Project Monitor/Engineer II supports the Department of Energy (DOE) office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) in project management activities, including, but not limited to, Funding Opportunity Announcements, project management, and technical support for competitively selected cooperative agreements. Support day-to-day interactions with internal parties such as legal, contracting, NEPA, and communications, as well as external communication with project recipients in academia, private industry, and National Laboratories.

Responsibilities:

  • Support projects in the Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) in scientific, engineering, and technical analyses.
  • Provide recommendations and advice on system development, improvements, and optimization.
  • Provide project management, performance monitoring, documentation, and progress assessment for BETO funded projects.
  • Support the development, coordination, and management of competitive solicitations and merit reviews.
  • Engage with BETO stakeholders on an appropriate level to ensure needs and gaps are being addressed where possible at the Federal level.
  • Assist in the development of internal briefing materials for decision makers, and to contribute technical review of external communications.
  • Successfully represent the program status to senior government officials, congressional stakeholders, academia, and industry partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Project management experience and experience with Bioenergy technologies, especially biomass conversion technologies or scale-up
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering or Scientific discipline
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Professional attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with renewable energy technologies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Successful completion of a drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management experience/PMP certification.
  • Ability to actively track and monitor government-funded research and development projects
  • Experience working within DOE EERE.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, the ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team.
  • Programming skills in either VBA or Python.
  • Experience working in the Bioenergy field, particularly in scale-up and/or biomass conversion.

Salary Range:

  • $75-105,000
