BGS is seeking an engineer with experience in the U.S. electricity transmission system (or grid) to support federal research and development (R&D) programs in solar grid integration in the Department of Energy's Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO). The successful candidate shall have experience working in an occupation that involves the U.S. electricity transmission system and possess a strong background in at least two of the following areas: (1) power electronics design; (2) electric power systems planning and operation; (3) renewable energy generation; (4) smart grid; (5) industrial control and automation; and (6) energy storage.
The SETO Systems Integration subprogram supports the research and development of high impact technologies and solutions that enable the reliable, resilient, and secure integration of solar energy on the nations electricity grid.
Working in an integrated team environment and supporting federal client, the candidate will be responsible for technology management for a portfolio of R&D projects. The candidate will also contribute and/or lead the development of new research initiatives to advance the state-of-the-arts.
