Job Description:

Atomo Coffee is currently seeking a second shift Maintenance Mechanic who is self-motivated and a quick study on diverse machinery! You are dependable, adaptable  and are excited about working in a start-up environment, which includes wearing many hats, being able to jump across the aisle to help a colleague and opportunities to learn production skills. 

The Senior Maintenance Mechanic will be a key member of the operations team, and will lead the preventative maintenance program, troubleshooting, and repair of all production equipment and facilities. This role will report directly to the Production Manager.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform all needed preventative maintenance and emergency repairs in support of Production needs.

  • Create regular preventative maintenance schedules and train production staff on “quick fixes”

  • Resolve equipment malfunctions by evaluating performance breakdowns, identifying the root cause and taking corrective action.

  • Ensure that equipment is maintained at a level to produce maximum production at the lowest cost, the highest quality, and utilizing optimum safety standards.

  • Develop work order documents, standard reporting procedures, and other tools to increase efficiency in maintenance scheduling and execution

  • Participate in continuous improvement process

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance and product support areas

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance processes

  • Recognize both internal and external customers and manage relationships

  • Ensure compliance with GMPs and safety policies while planning and completing projects.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of electrical systems including 110-480V systems, AC & DC control systems, installing, troubleshooting and repair

  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, plumbing and pneumatic systems

  • Knowledge of refrigeration systems, Glycol. (preferred by not required)

  • Welding-TIG, MIG, Stick, etc. Stainless / Sanitary equipment experience (helpful but not required)

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints

  • Licensing and regulatory compliance in accordance with Washington State Law

  • Forklift and pallet-jack certification

  • Knowledge of plant mechanical processes sufficient to analyze performance trends and recommend and initiate corrective actions to improve process performance

  • Working knowledge of PLC controls (helpful, but not required)

  • Boiler certification preferred not required

  • Critical team player, willing to jump in and learn production as well as train colleagues on your skillset

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  • Stand for extend periods of time 

  • Walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, and climb over equipment within the production area as well as loading zones

  • Converse in a range of environments from loud production areas to office space.

The employee must be able to: 

  • Use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds often, using proper bending and lifting. Lift 25 pounds overhead repeatedly and safely.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far vision, depth perception, color determination, hand/eye coordination, and hand/eye/foot coordination and the ability to adjust focus. 

  • Other required abilities include reading, calculation, measuring, planning, interpreting, explaining, and compiling data.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however louder noise levels may be experienced when production is occurring or when maintenance work is being performed. Environmental conditions in the plant include exposure to elevated surfaces, vibration, moving objects, noise, slippery floors, electrical hazards, heat, and mechanical hazards.

Hours: 3:30pm-12:00am

Pay Range: DOE $28-33 per hour
