Job Description

Position Overview  

We are seeking an experienced Learning and Leadership (L&L) professional to support our growing organization of enthusiastic learners!    

L&L Partner will design, lead, and evaluate training and learning activities for our 600+ change leaders world-wide. They will closely partner with internal and external experts to provide RMIers with the skills and knowledge necessary to transform global energy use. The L&L Partner takes ownership of ensuring that our learning serves our passionate, high-performing learners.   

L&L Partner is an individual contributor who will report to the Director of Learning and leadership as part of RMI’s People Team. We are a fast-moving team that models a growth mindset, creativity, and a focus on impact. Join us!   

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and deliver training on a wide range of topics, including for managers, early career employees, and new hires   

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and RMI leaders to design learning experiences that are memorable and relevant   

  • Recommend and implement strategic approaches to filling skill gaps, including curating external resources   

  • Develop learning materials (case studies, workbooks, presentations, facilitator guides, etc.), including materials for asynchronous or eLearning 

  • Develop and manage relationships with new and existing vendors 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 4+ years' experience designing and delivering learning activities such as classroom training, eLearning, workshops, and interactive practice   

  • Experience using adult learning and instructional design principles to conduct needs assessments and develop training plans and content   

  • Strong consulting, problem-solving, project management, and collaboration skills; experience diagnosing and solving business challenges in partnership with others  

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and leverage new systems and understand how to put data to use in everyday decision making. 

  • Experience developing scalable learning solutions for a fast-growing organization  

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of multiple projects and competing priorities  

  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, collaborative, and ambiguous environment 

  • Excellent facilitation skills and confidence presenting in front of audiences of varying sizes. 

  • Tech-savvy: proficient in PowerPoint, MS Teams, Outlook, and Zoom   

  • Our work is global and our workforce is distributed. Depending on location, 5-10% travel may be required and working past normal business hours is occasionally necessary  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with energy/climate-change or mission-driven organizations  

  • Experience facilitating workplace style assessments such as DiSC   

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and eLearning development tools  

  • CPLP, graduate certificate, or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Developmentor other L&D/HR disciplineis nice to have; experience is more important   

Location 

We are a remote-ready company with team members around the globe. Our beautiful and welcoming offices are available for meetings or focused work, whether you are traveling through or living nearby. Our U.S. offices are in New York City; Washington DC; Oakland, California; Boulder, Colorado, and Basalt, Colorado. This role can be located from anywhere in the continental United States.  

We provide you with the essential IT equipment plus a one-time home technology payment and a monthly work from home/commuter allowance to ensure you have a comfortable home office set up and necessary supplies.  

We love seeing each other in person! We occasionally gather for shared time together like retreats and learning experiences. Be ready to travel for occasional in-person meetings (and of course, we cover travel costs). Some roles may require more travel, which will be discussed during the hiring process. 

Compensation 

RMI compensates based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new L&L Partners join at the minimum to mid salary range of $80,000 - $90,000. This is dependent on experience that will be discussed and vetted through the interview process. This position also includes an additional10% bonus target.
