Software Engineer - Planner Framework

Zoox is developing a world class planning system which demonstrates the power of autonomous vehicles. But we’re doing more than that: we’re developing a product which can operate day in and day out, in any kind of weather, with the reliability and robustness to enable customers to put their faith in our autonomous driving system. 
You are the right engineer for this role if you are acutely aware of the difference between an effective demo and an effective product, and you are excited about the opportunity to take our world-class planning system and turn it into a world-first commercial product.

Responsibilities

• Creating and enforcing elegant, clean architectures for planner subprocesses
• Working with test operators to ensure diagnostic tools are clear and easy to understand
• Providing mechanisms to increase transparency of the planning process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Fluency in C/C++
• Strong Mathematics background 
• Significant experience with the design and implementation of strong software architectures and algorithms
• Strong sense for “clean” coding practices

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience “shipping product”, i.e. writing software for a product which made it to market
• Passionate about elegant software design
• Interest in motion planning  
• Familiarity with Python and/or Front-end development

Vaccine Mandate
