About the Role

We’re looking for an Operations Leader to join our Phoenix team as a Remote assistance Team Lead who will be responsible for a team that provides remote assistance, customer support, and technical assistance to our autonomous vehicles. The primary responsibility will be to manage a team of advisors, set clear expectations on daily activities that need to be performed, raise urgent issues, and build a positive and encouraging workplace environment. In addition, this leader will provide visibility to our product operations and engineering teams on the real-time state of our tools and keep the team safe and secure, while ensuring our resources are used efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will be meticulous in execution, an experienced professional in people operations, and someone who thrives in ambiguity. This role will engage in projects in which certain details must be kept confidential.

On-site, in-office attendance is vital for this position.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Become a subject matter expert in discrete Remote Assistance features, their workflows, and their contributions to Cruise’s topline metrics
  • Partner with team members across multiple functions throughout the company (including Engineering, Product, and Operations) to ensure synchronized operations across multiple geographies
  • Give to the product development process, then coordinate feature testing and launches for geographically dispersed operating teams
  • Identify trending issues and guide Advisors to do the same in their daily work. You will provide support to the team by being present and approachable, answering questions, hosting regular team meetings, and providing real-time feedback as needed

What you must have:

  • Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • You have the ability to work in ambiguous and constantly evolving environments
  • Ability to handle multifaceted assignments, including flexible schedules
  • Ability to keep calm and perform well under pressure
  • Ability to connect with people of all backgrounds and offer immediate, fair, and clear feedback when needed
  • Work as the Point of Contact to provide regular support to partners such as Product Operations, Strategy, Training and Development, Customer Support, Safety and more.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to fulfill the company’s mission
  • Passion for leading, with a dedication to empowering a team and achieving targets
  • Experience working with FTE and IC workforce bases.
  • You have strong analytical and interpersonal skills and identify as a natural problem-solver
  • You have the ability to work cross-functionally and build strong agreements across several partners
  • You have a passion for self-driving technology and its potential to change the world
  • You are a tenacious teammate, with a bias toward action and a continuous improvement mentality. You work well with others
  • The ability to communicate key issues coherently and expertly to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Remain up to date on key workflow changes, operational guidelines and policy updates.

  • Past experience and/or subject matter expertise in the AV industry or Teleoperations
  • Experience leading safety-critical operations in technology or automotive industries
  • Operational experience with, a 24/7 frontline workforce
