Project Manager / Director – Ecological / environmental data consulting

  • Up to £60k + share options.
  • Seniority of role and job title flexible, depending on experience.

Summary

Verna is a green-tech start-up, with a rapidly expanding customer base and over £2m in growth funding from private investors and the UK Government.

We use data science to help people manage land in the best way for the environment – drawing down carbon and enhancing biodiversity, whilst making sustainable returns. We build software tools to solve these challenges, which are used both by our customers and by our in-house consultants.

We are looking for an experienced individual to lead the delivery of environmental data projects for customers, including a multi-year government-funded project with a seven-figure budget and a range of major partners such as Forest Research, Cranfield University, and the National Trust.

While we will consider anyone with the right experience, this role might suit someone with a background in environmental consultancy. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in ecology, biodiversity, and Biodiversity Net Gain.

This is an opportunity to be an early team member at a fast-growing start-up, aiming to change humanity’s relationship with the natural environment and make a global contribution to tackling the climate and nature crises. Your compensation will include share options, enabling you to share in the company’s success.

Like ecosystems, teams are more vibrant, innovative, and resilient when they are more diverse. We welcome applications from everyone, and particularly people from under-represented groups of every kind.
