(February/March 2023 start) Hardware Test Internship/Co-op

Zoox's Advanced Hardware Engineering team is looking for a Hardware Test Intern to work closely with our hardware engineers on the development of in-house electronics for our robots. You will also be involved in root-causing board failures, sometimes leading you deep into the vehicle architecture.

Role Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with various teams to develop in-house electronics for our autonomous vehicle
• Define test plans, design and run board-level signal and power integrity tests for validating the electric design and its margins
• Utilize internal and external standards to define and track appropriate test thresholds. Drive test coverage.
• Expose failure modes early in development to drive design improvements

Requirements

• Currently working towards a B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program
• Good academic standing
• Can commit to at least a 6 month internship beginning in February or March of 2023 (please do not apply if you are unable to start sometime between now and March)
• At least one previous industry internship, co-op, or project completed in a relevant area
• Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California for the duration of the internship
• Interns at Zoox may not use any proprietary information they are working on as part of their thesis, any published work with their university, or to be distributed to anyone outside of Zoox.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in engineering, physics, or computer science
• Project experience (e.g. engineering competition, capstone projects, internships)
• EE Equipment experience (e.g. oscilloscope, power supplies, network analyzers)
• Fluent in English

CompensationThe monthly salary range for this position is $6,500 to $9,500. Compensation will vary based on role, degree level and type, and benefits will be offered based on eligibility. Additional benefits may include medical insurance, 401k, and a housing stipend.
Vaccine MandateEmployees working in this position will be required to have received a single dose of the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine OR have completed the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series. In addition, employees will be required to receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine within two months of becoming eligible for the booster vaccine.
