As Senior Manager of Employee Relations & HR, you play a key role in helping as a subject matter expert in HR compliance and to ensure that our culture fosters a fair, speak up, inclusive workplace. You will also partner across the People team, cross-functional teams, and business to identify opportunities, develop solutions and strategies, and ensure results and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design, educate, and lead employee relations and global HR Compliance projects and programs to provide solutions and advice on various policies and related regulatory compliance issues, which may include privacy, compensation, diversity & inclusion, compliance programming support, workplace accommodations, wage and hour training, posting requirements, and leave and time away policies.
  • Provides insight, thought leadership, and interpretation to managers and employees throughout Beyond Meat regarding relevant employment principles, complex employee relations issues, performance management, workplace investigations and critical incident management.
  • Partner and collaborate with managers and HR Teams (Talent Acquisition, HRBPs, L&D, and other HR team members) to provide guidance and mentorship on a variety of HR Compliance policies and related regulatory compliance issues, which may include privacy, compensation, diversity & inclusion, compliance programming support, workplace accommodations, wage and hour training, posting requirements, and leave and time away policies.
  • Create communications, training materials, and other change management mechanisms to educate stakeholders on new and revised policies, processes, and programs.
  • Conduct sensitive investigations of potential policy and/or Code of Conduct violations.
  • Build, implement, and measure HR compliance controls (e.g. HR SOX controls, employment laws, etc.), execute on various policy and process initiatives.
  • Identify risk for global compliance audits/regulatory reviews.
  • Establishes compliance standards, anticipates emerging compliance trends, and works to improve and tighten internal compliance controls
  • Stay abreast of global employee-related legislative and regulatory developments, and ensure changes to rules and regulations are implemented with HR systems, policies, articles, and practices. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience in a related field. JD preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in HR Compliance or employment and labor law.
  • Subject matter expertise in employment US and international regulatory areas and experience working with the various laws that impact HR globally.
  • Experience operationalizing HR policies and strategy. 
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and cross-functional team skills, with demonstrable track record to influence and communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptable and able to maintain flexibility and openness to take on additional duties as necessary or assigned.
  • Able to handle confidential information in a mature and professional manner.
  • Proven program and project management skills.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and training skills. 
  • Prepare thoughtful, reasonable, and independent investigation conclusions and recommendations, as appropriate.
  • Experience working with a high growth company.

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD 135,000 and 150,000.  The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.  The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
