Senior Product Manager, Community Solar Marketplace (CSM)

The product manager will apply a deep knowledge of consumer experience, marketplace platforms and model optimization to define a strategic roadmap for the Community Solar Marketplace and lead a cross functional team of Designers, Engineers and Marketers through the execution of that roadmap. 

This role will own EnergySage Product for a given vertical(s), and as part of the leadership team within that vertical. This is a chance to accelerate the transition to clean energy and build out a new product and business line at EnergySage. The product lead will contribute to revenue growth by defining, prioritizing, and executing a product roadmap which will consist of projects ranging from A/B tests designed to drive quote request conversion rate, to the discovery and launch of whole new products in this space. 

The purpose of this role is to deliver consumer experiences that seamlessly connect consumers to the best option for them, generate stickiness between shoppers and our brand, and generate high intent, convertible lead traffic for our distribution partners, so that EnergySage is a meaningfully important source of high value customers within your vertical(s).

What you’ll do:

  • Establish the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for one of our newest marketplaces - Community Solar. 
  • Lead an empowered product development team that includes engineers, designers, and marketers to drive the business forward.
  • Work with stakeholders at all levels of our company, aligning them to your vision
  • Manage your product across the full product lifecycle
  • Actively manage product scope by focusing on the most important user needs
  • Drive the adoption of renewable energy and fight climate change
  • Building business cases and analytical insight for new product initiatives. This requires identifying and understanding key issues, quantitatively analyzing these issues, and communicating key insights and results
  • Define, track, and report on key deliverables as projects and releases move through the pipeline
  • Determine and analyze metrics for success and iterative improvement
  • Prioritizing what to focus on and when. There are countless ways we can improve our product. You will size and prioritize the opportunities, to maximize our ROI, and strike the right balance between short term wins and longer term investments.

What we look for: 

  • 4+ years in product management or related roles
  • Demonstrates successful execution of a customer-centric product strategy that delivered business results.
  • A strong bias for action that ensures projects are completed in a timely manner, acknowledging mistakes, learning from them and always moving forward productively.
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile product development and product management methodologies (user story creation, task breakdown)
  • Technical savvy and understanding of how to support the engineering process
  • Fluency with collecting and leveraging data to drive decisions and measure progress
  • Uses a combination of metrics, research and intuition to evaluate opportunities, establish roadmaps and build solutions.
  • A strong focus on the customer and a passion for user research
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and leverage capabilities effectively up, down, and across the organization
  • Ability to write and or guide clear and concise product requirements, status updates and product results.
  • Experience with B2C / eCommerce / Comparative Shopping / Marketplaces a plus
  • A BS/BA or equivalent work experience (MBA nice to have but not a requirement).
