AMP Robotics is hiring a Data Operations Project Manager reporting to the engineering manager of Team Data within the Brain Team. AMP’s Team Brain works on a platform that generates and improves our image datasets, alongside the ML models trained on those datasets. Together, our models and datasets drive our fleet of robots, empowering them to correctly identify the material they are sorting. AMP’s Data Operations Project Managers use this platform to improve our AI performance in mission critical applications, new verticals, and R&D initiatives.

As our Data Operations Project Manager, you will work to:

  • Manage and drive projects that seek to improve the performance of our AI, which increases the volume of material diverted from landfill.
  • Manage and drive projects that establish AI capabilities in new, R&D applications.
  • Build and design new datasets for training and evaluation specific to the data projects you are working on
  • Design and run A/B experiments within data projects to creatively improve performance
  • Train, review, and audit the offshore team providing annotation for our datasets
  • Manage and drive projects that improve our team’s internal processes, or that improve the quality of our results
  • Work with our development and product teams to brainstorm improvements to AMP’s internal tools
  • Become an expert in industrial sortation, particularly in single stream recycling, construction and demolition, and organics.
  • Respond to, triage and address AI shortcomings reported from our fleet of robots (not external customer facing).

The successful candidate will have:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years in a technical field (data analytics or similar)
  • 1+ years experience with project management

Preferred: 

  • Passion for recycling/green tech
  • Experience using the scientific method
  • Experience working with offshore teams
  • Experience using SQL or SQL-like query languages
  • Basic knowledge in statistical modeling, machine learning, or computer vision
  • Comfort with GSuite tools, Atlassian tools, and ability to learn custom tools
  • Comfort with fast paced, autonomous, collaborative environments
  • Degree in a technical field (bachelor of science, accounting degree, engineering degree, or similar)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (sciences, accounting, engineering, or similar is preferred) or equivalent (4+ years) experience in a technical field

Experience: 

  • 2+ years in a technical field as an analyst/individual contributor
  • 1+ years as a project manager (accountable to the success of projects)

Salary & Compensation Information: $76,500 - $88,500

Benefits Information:

  • Medical - The company covers up 85% to 100% of the premium for Cigna healthcare plans depending on the selection. Employees pay the difference in premium if they select a more expensive plan. Up to 75% for dependents.
