Who We Are

At nectar, we are re-defining electric vehicle charging for multi tenant buildings. We have built a system that requires no costly electrical upgrades and cures the pains of shared charging. We are revolutionizing the charging experience for both building owners and drivers with Charging as a Service.

EV drivers reserve charging at the push of a button. Behind the scenes, each building’s dedicated movable battery charges the cars wherever they are parked delivering 40-60km of range with a 5 minute charge.

During building off hours we enable asset managers to profit from their unused garage assets by offering charging services to non-tenants.

About the role

As the founding engineer, you’ll take on the responsibilities of a founder. You’ll help us scale to millions of users

We’re looking for "a scrappy product builder who wants to define the engineering culture" to join us as one of our first hires. You’ll also have opportunities to talk with customers and solve their problems directly (if that’s your kind of thing).

What You’ll Do

• Lead full-stack development of nectar’s EV charging platform including scheduling logistics, owner facing mobile app, field technician facing mobile app and internal tools
• Interact with electrical engineers and power systems engineers to build robust battery management systems
• Help set the standard for future SW development at nectar
• Define our engineering culture and best practices from the ground up
• Collaborate closely with our CEO and directly impact product roadmap

We’re excited about you because you have

• Strong command of Python, with experience with Tornado greatly appreciated
• Experience building n-tier applications
• Strong grasp of REST and experience in deploying servers exposing secure REST API
• Experience using React and/or React Native
• Familiar with the concepts and principals of TDD
• Familiarity with Docker greatly appreciated
• Familiarity with AWS greatly appreciated
• Handled the unstructured environment of fast moving startups
• A very product and customer focused mindset
