Job Description

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and implement software solutions that turn millions of electric vehicles, smart thermostats, batteries, and other energy IoT devices into resources that help create a cleaner and more resilient grid
  • Implement scalable and maintainable frontend coding practices to build the UX/UI of the energy future
  • Develop new ways of connecting our systems to energy markets and the systems that balance the electric grid
  • Introduce and devise tools, techniques, and best practices that benefit the entire team
  • React to and resolve novel technical, operational, and organizational challenges
  • Contribute to our team culture and inclusive environment

Key Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of web application development experience,
  • Strong React and TypeScript experience
  • The ability to make informed decisions about TypeScript tooling, when/when not to use 3rd party libraries
  • Ability and willingness to provide input on product/code design approaches

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Mobile or React Native development
  • Back-end with Java, C# or another strongly typed language
  • Rails or Spring Boot is a big plus
  • MongoDb, MySQL, DynamoDb (yup, we use all 3)
  • Monitoring: AWS Cloudwatch, Datadog
  • Cloud: We are heavily invested in AWS, experience with this ecosystem or another cloud-based infrastructure would be beneficial.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000 + equity. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
