Quality Systems Internship/Co-op

As an intern on Zoox's Quality Systems team, you will support the team in developing a quality management system. From conducting assessments, gap analysis, and creating documentation, including process maps, turtle diagrams, procedures, and work instructions, to collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization to develop quality metrics and reporting. 

Requirements

• Currently working towards a B.S., M.S., or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program.
• Good academic standing
• Can commit to at least a 12-week internship
• At least one previous industry internship, co-op, or project completed in a relevant area
• Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California for the duration of the internship
• Interns at Zoox may not use any proprietary information they are working on as part of their thesis, any published work with their university, or to be distributed to anyone outside of Zoox.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Operations, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Understand the importance of quality and has the confidence to bring up quality issues and help resolve them
• Analysis and procedural flow development and management as well as other projects as assigned
• Ability to document core operational processes, create detailed process maps and associated materials for basic current and future state processes
• Utilize problem-solving methodologies for root cause analysis of reoccurring challenges
• Knowledge and/or experience in Kaizen, Lean/Six Sigma, and problem-solving principles
• Experience with Visio and/or Lucidcharts
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage project timelines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Build effective collaboration and communication in a team environment
• Be encouraged and expected to innovate and be creative in your problem solving and presentation of solutions
