OUR IMPACT 

GridStor is a rapidly growing, grid-scale energy storage developer, owner and operator backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) and led by experienced clean energy industry professionals. We acquire, develop and operate stand-alone battery storage projects in markets across North America. GridStor is based in Portland, Oregon. GridStor is accelerating the transition to a carbon-free electricity supply be deploying flexible shortage systems that facilitate integration of intermittent renewable energy while maintaining reliability.

 

YOUR IMPACT 

As the Director/VP of Business Operations, you will have the opportunity to help build a company from the ground up in the rapidly growing energy storage sector. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining operational systems and helping to build an effective organizational culture. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a business management role, with a focus on efficiency and collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

The principal duties of this role are: 1) Developing and implementing business processes and systems that drive effective decision making and efficient execution of plans. 2) Working with the CEO and other senior leaders to define and communicate GridStor’s organizational culture and strategic goals. 3) Ensuring all members of the team understand their roles, responsibilities, and expectations and that internal communications and decision making are efficient and clear.

 

  • Developing and implementing business systems that can scale as the company grows.
  • Manage vendors including information technology, accounting, and human resources.
  • Assist in preparation of materials for GridStor board members and investors.
    • Coordinate onboarding of new hires, including training, establishing policies, defining key objectives, and measuring progress towards them.
    • Help establish an inclusive company culture that ensures all team members feel respected and promotes healthy debate of ideas while maintaining team cohesion.
    • Ensure proposals to the CEO and Board are concise, backed by data, and convey the appropriate level of detail for decision making
    • Develop internal processes (e.g. approvals and accountability) which clearly define the roles of different teams while ensuring information sharing and cooperation.
    • Planning internal meetings, communicating decisions and status updates. • Leading special projects as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:  

  • Demonstrated operational management experience
  • Flexible, versatile and self-motivated
  • Financial skills including budgeting, modeling and reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and emotional intelligence
  • Nimble and strategic mindset, with a focus on developing creative solutions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects to schedule and budget
  • Consulting experience with a focus on operations management a plus
  • Bachelor’s in a relevant field required, Master’s degree a plus
