Kaluza wants to power a world where net-zero is within everyone’s reach, by building the platform that will accelerate a sustainable, affordable and resilient energy transition. It’s a huge challenge, but often the toughest problems are the most rewarding to solve.

Since launching in 2019, Kaluza’s technology has been empowering some of the biggest energy suppliers to better serve millions of customers.

From revolutionising billing to smart electric vehicle charging, our real-time cloud platforms transform supplier operations, reducing cost to serve and boosting engagement. And most importantly, they enable suppliers' customers to drive decarbonisation with smart, low carbon technologies.

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You’ll join our Research and Design Operations function, and be part of our Platform Design team — a team of User Researchers and Designers specialising in Product, Service and Content that partner with our colleagues in Product, Engineering and Data.

At Kaluza User research helps us make better decisions about what we should build, and how we should build it — you’ll help us conduct research more efficiently, reach a diverse set of participants and curate insights, so we deliver services which work for everyone.

You’ll be responsible for enabling great research to happen and ensuring people taking part in our research have the best possible participant experience. You will work on bringing together research and insights from across the business into a central place. Making improvements to how we document and share insights, so that our product teams access reliable and relevant insights about our users, at the right time.

What will I be doing?

  • Maintaining and maturing services which help our researchers and designers conduct user research quickly, easily, and cost-effectively
  • Scaling our research processes and tools to enable ever more impactful research to be delivered
  • Enhancing our processes for recruiting participants and ensure their data is secure
  • Organising knowledge and insights in a way that all our teams can benefit from them
  • Managing our tools; liaising with suppliers, raising purchase orders, and helping the team get technical support
  • Showcasing the research operations we have in place and encouraging people to use them
  • Signposting to relevant resources, sourcing solutions to problems and working with other teams across the business including procurement, finance, risk and compliance
  • Learning from colleagues and stakeholders about their needs when doing user research at Kaluza
  • Being an active member in the research operations community

Whether you’re on a call helping a participant to take part in research, or archiving usability testing data… you’ll have to go beyond problem solving: we’re after a problem finder.

Is this the job for me?

Ideally you will have…

  • Experience of working alongside user researchers to make research happen
  • Experience in making research processes more efficient
  • Knowledge of different user research tooling and community resources
  • An openness to learn from others and share your expertise
  • Knowledge of agile and iterative ways of working
