Director of Sustainable Aviation Fuel, Business Development

The business development team at Twelve is seeking an entrepreneurial Director of Sustainable Aviation Fuel Business Development. The team is responsible for building, supporting, and growing the pipeline of customers for Twelve’s market-leading E-Jet power-to-liquids sustainable aviation fuel product.

Job Brief

In this role, you would be part of a small but impactful business development team, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and collaborating closely with Twelve’s other commercial leaders. You’ll join the team at an extremely high leverage time as we onboard our initial sustainable aviation fuel customers and develop our strategy for rapidly scaling Twelve’s fuel business growth. 

The core objectives for the role will be to lead and support Twelve’s sustainable aviation fuel business development work, creating and owning the playbook for how we go-to-market and executing through direct outreach and collaboration with customers. You’ll be challenged to help the world’s leading airlines and corporate buyers meet their sustainable aviation fuel goals, and apply the skills from your prior business development experience in the aviation or related industries.

What You Will Do

• Create and manage the company’s strategic framework and pricing model for how we go-to-market in the sustainable aviation fuel field.
• Conduct direct outreach and in-person visits with potential fuel customers to originate and grow opportunities.
• Attend and present at industry conferences and events, position yourself as a thought leader in sustainable aviation fuel and power-to-liquids specifically.
• Negotiate commercial offtake agreements in collaboration with internal capital projects and finance stakeholders and external advisors.
• Collaborate with marketing to develop inbound leads.
• Conduct desktop research to build our pipeline of potential customers.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, business, or operations
• Minimum of 5-6 years of experience and demonstrated track record of successful business development in sustainable aviation fuel or a closely related field
• Knowledge of sustainable aviation fuel technologies, customer requirements, and incentives
• Industry network spanning relevant airlines and corporate Scope 3 buyers
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Excitement about getting out into the field and traveling to events and customer visits, up to 50% travel

A range for the included position is listed below. Be advised, actual offer details are determined by job category, job location, and candidate skill level.    United States Wage Range: $197,600 - $260,000   Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidate's diverse sets of skill levels.
