Boston Government Services has a need for an Office of Technology Transitions Stakeholder Engagement Specialist.

This position directly supports the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) in communications and stakeholder engagement. The Mission of OTT is to expand the public impact of the department's research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) portfolio to advance the economic, energy, and national security interests of the nation. OTT is the front door to DOE products, facilities, and expertise. The Stakeholder Engagement Specialist will work closely with the office director to help communicate program information to various stakeholders, both internal and external, to DOE.

The position requires a high level of organization, strong attention to detail, and professional and proficient communication. We are seeking a motivated and organized self-starter with strong writing, speech writing, and organizational skills who is capable of multitasking with minimal direction or oversight. The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing memos, talking points, and speeches for OTT leadership speaking engagements.
  • Translating technical information in a broad array of technologies into understandable content for varying audiences.
  • Reviewing and editing technical publications, reports, and presentations.
  • Working closely with leadership on coordinating event participation and proactively seeking events and activities where OTT leadership might engage in making speeches, keynote addresses, participating in or facilitating technical panels, etc.
  • Writing and editing web content.
  • Coordinating with DOE Public Affairs on media inquiries.
  • Drafting talking points and backgrounders for media interviews.
  • Working with Congressional Affairs to prepare information for Members of Congress when needed.
  • Guiding submissions through approval workflows while maintaining tight version control.
  • Meeting tight deadlines with superior quality deliverables.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Communications, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Journalism, or another appropriate discipline).
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Broad level of technical understanding/aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience in the commercialization of technologies.
  • Professional attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Experience writing and tailoring speeches and talking points for various audiences.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team.
  • Ability to balance multiple long- and short-term projects and competing priorities.
  • Successful drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Salary Range: $95-125,000
