Job Description

Tigo Energy is looking for an experienced electrician or lab technician to work with our top engineers at our R&D facility in Campbell, CA.

Tigo builds hardware and software intelligence into solar PV energy installations, making them more efficient, more manageable, and safer. By maximizing the energy output of each individual PV module, Tigo's advanced balance of system products deliver lower cost of ownership and faster return on investment for existing and new solar installations.

Responsibilities

  • Able to follow and execute UL compliance testing support of various grid-tied ESS PV inverter and associated sub systems design in the lab environment.
  • Responsible for compatibility testing with PV Inverters functions and our Optimizers/RSD.
  • Responsible of installing and commissioning Optimizers/RSD units and PV inverters on test sites and support product development team with their field testing needs.
  • Must be capable of wiring and assembly of electrical components/fixtures.  Electrical panel wiring experience is preferred.
  • Capable of handling electrical systems from low voltages to 480 VAC.
  • Familiarity with test equipment (DVM, O-Scope) for measurement purposes.
  • Ability to learn and work in a fast-paced and challending environment.

Requirements

  • Associates degree and/or vocational program in engineering or electrical technologies preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related testing experience preferred with electrical and mechanical background.  Prior testing experience with PV systems, PV inverter is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively review, understand, and convey technical information.
  • Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Good analytical ability and problem-solving skills and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to identify electrical hazards and execute proper safe procedures.
  • Ability to occasionally handle up to 50 lbs.
