AMP Robotics is hiring a Robot Software Engineer in Test reporting to the Quality & Test Engineering Manager to focus on the development of infrastructure to improve product quality and delivery.  You will be tasked with participating in the full software development life cycle from requirement, design & code review to integration and release testing.  You will be given the authority to devise test strategies and approaches.  You will work side by side with your development peers to ensure the team delivers the best quality release possible.  You will develop and execute manual test cases with the intention of converting these into reliable automated tests.

To succeed in this role you should be highly organized and methodical in how you approach your work.  It is imperative that you have a passion for testing, solving problems and continually raising the bar for quality.

As our Robot Software Engineer in Test, you will work to:

  • Devise test automation strategies in cooperation with your development peers.
  • Design and develop scalable and reliable test automation.
  • Support the development team to deliver high quality releases
  • Participate in the requirement, design, and code review process.
  • Design and execute manual test cases in preparation for automation.
  • Troubleshoot, root cause, and debug robot hardware onsite in our test lab.
  • Report, track, and manage defects to resolution.
  • Use data to measure improvements and justify decisions.
  • Initiate improvements to raise the bar on our quality processes and documentation

The successful candidate will have:

Required:

  • Passion for quality and testing.
  • An aptitude for test framework design and development.
  • Automation development experience using Python.
  • Strong background with Linux and embedded systems.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
  • Must be skilled at decomposing complex issues involving hardware, firmware, software.

Preferred: 

  • CS background or demonstrated experience excelling in this role.
  • Knowledgeable on operating systems, databases & networking.
  • Experience with simulation, software-in-loop, and hardware-in-loop testing.
  • Practical experience with Gitlab, Jenkins, and Docker.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience: 

  • 5+ years

Salary & Compensation Information: $125,000 - $135,000

Benefits Information:

  • Medical - The company covers up 85% to 100% of the premium for Cigna healthcare plans depending on the selection. Employees pay the difference in premium if they select a more expensive plan. Up to 75% for dependents.
