Sustainable Solutions - Sr. Manager (Remote)

Sustain.Life is looking for a knowledgeable sustainability and climate action solutionist to support our commercial team. The candidate should have applied experience supporting corporate clients across a variety of industries and ESG needs. You will work alongside our pre- and post-sales teams, directly interfacing with prospects and customers, representing our sustainability expertise to drive sales and support customer needs. The candidate must have an expert understanding of sustainable strategy, climate action, carbon accounting and ESG reporting to properly convey the value of our technical solutions. Candidates should thrive in client-facing environments and be comfortable thinking on their feet based on prospect’s needs. This job has elements of relationship development, project management, technical expertise, and execution. This role reports to our Chief Sustainability Officer and serves as the primary support to our commercial team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as client-facing subject matter expert on carbon accounting, climate disclosure, sustainability and ESG
• Provide technical expertise on sustainable reporting frameworks and disclosures such as TCFD, SASB, SBTi, GRI , UNSDGs, and CDP.
• Provide accurate and expert guidance to prospect and customer inquiries pertaining to GHGP compliant emissions inventories, science-based targets, and broader ESG strategy and initiatives. Understand our product and product roadmap at a very detailed level to ensure its value can be communicated to potential and current clients
• Support pre- and post-sales teams by demonstrating the technical expertise of our sustainability team
• Translate client needs to the sustainability and product teams, guiding feature development and key requirementsPartner with our customer success, product, and sustainability teams to effectively develop new self-help guides and other client supporting materials as needs are identified.

Desired Qualifications for this Role:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, or another related field required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate sustainability consulting working with executive leadership and key stakeholders of clients
• A firm understanding of topics and trends related to sustainability reporting and corporate ESG strategy.
• Working knowledge of evolving climate disclosure regulations including the SEC proposed rule, UK Sustainable Reporting Directive (SRD), EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Taxonomy for sustainable activities. · Working knowledge of carbon accounting best practice and associated reporting frameworks including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP), SBTi, GRI, CDP, TCFD, and SASB
• Familiarity with other frameworks and coalitions such as UN Global Compact and UNSDGs.
• Certifications from standards setters such as GRI, VRF or similar preferred but not required Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and business judgement
• Effective time management skills with an ability to identify and prioritize essential tasks
• Clear, approachable communication and ability to translate complex topics to clients ranging in sophistication and maturity
