Positions:  Crop Care Specialist and Packhouse Specialist

About the Role:

You will be joining a team at the forefront of reinventing sustainable agriculture by ensuring the successful growth, harvesting, and packaging of produce. 

Starting Hourly Rate:  $13.00

What You’ll Do:

• Adhere to all current SOP’s, procedures, inspections, and quality requirements following company guidelines
• Operating machinery including automated seeder, electric pallet jack, big bale breaker, scissor lift (up to 15ft) and automated harvester
• Tracking of inventory for internal controls
• Mixing stock solution tanks with fertilizer
• Assist with greenhouse preparation and clean-up while adhering to strict industry standards
• Assist the team by placing beneficial insects on the crop
• Report pests, diseases, and other abnormalities in the crop
• Report food safety and quality problems to your supervisor or directly to Senior Management
• Follow all safety standard operating procedures (SOP), policies, rules, regulations, etc.
• Must ensure proper cleanliness and hygiene to meet Food Safety Standard
• Meeting daily performance goals and targets
• Comply with OSHA, GMP, and other safety regulations
• Operate lifting equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport material 
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on equipment such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging, fueling, and replacing liquefied-gas tanks 
• Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels
• Sweeps, wipes, scrubs, vacuums, sanitizes, washes, and picks up as required to keep equipment, facility, and food surfaces clean and sanitary
• Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) in order to clean equipment, facility, and food surfaces at a microbiological level
• Ensures all cleaning tools are stored properly like brushes, gloves, soap, towels, etc.
• Perform a variety of packaging activities and tasks

What We’re Looking For:

• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing humidity and temperature
• Ability to identify color variations
• Flexibility to work 40+ hours weekly (which may include weekend work)
• A motivated team-player with effective communication skills, attention to details and quality-focused
• Agriculture experience is preferred but not required

Working conditions / Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly as part of lifting and moving product and equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, sit, enter data into a computer. May require sustained repetitive motion in temperatures ranging between 80 - 100 degrees in the Greenhouse and 40 - 65 degrees in the Packhouse
• Must have a reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work 40+ hours weekly (which may include occasional weekend work)
• Must be comfortable working near moving mechanical parts
• Must be authorized to work in the US
