The RoleWith the recent Bipartisan Infrastructure Package and California budget cycles, there are billions of dollars in financing for carbon removal that would massively accelerate our progress. 
This position will draw on your experience with grant writing and administration to build Heirloom's grants and public financing portfolio. You will work closely with our engineering and research teams to build a grant strategies, timelines, and budgets. When we win, you'll work closely with our research and engineering teams to build schedules and execute grant reporting. You are an exceptional technical writer, highly organized, and detail oriented.

What you will do

  • Manage and coordinate the drafting of grant applications in collaboration with key stakeholders both internal and external to Heirloom.
  • Prepare the administrative components of proposals using specific funding agency guidelines.
  • Contribute to technical writing and inform the direction of grant applications and grant reporting.
  • Oversee and communicate submission process, both paper and electronic; review documents for completeness and compliance.
  • Manage reporting and reimbursement processes. 
  • Support slide deck and content creation for both internal and external presentations.
  • Contribute to technical writing and inform the direction of grant applications and grant reporting.

What you will bring

  • Experience with grant proposal preparation and submission processes and procedures.
  • Highly goal oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in coordination with various teams.
  • Working knowledge of DOE, ARPA-e, and California Energy Commission grants
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized and flexible in an environment, which requires continuous monitoring of priorities.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and openness to change.
