Job Description
QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. The company’s next-generation batteries are designed to enable longer range, faster charging and enhanced safety in electric vehicles to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future.
Under the direction of Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Director, lead and manage all aspects of Environmental programs, permits, training for all QuantumScape sites.
Specific responsibilities include: 1. Assess and lead chemical management, hazardous waste management, air, water, and soil compliance to meet Federal, State, and Local standards. 2. Obtain/update/manage required permits for Environmental Compliance. 3. Participate in building, equipment, and process design review processes to assess environmental issues and mitigation requirements. 4. Lead emissions abatement strategy and permitting process. 5. Create an Environmental Management System but without obtaining the ISO 14,000 certification. 5. Ramp up hazardous waste management program by driving zero waste in landfills over the next few years and robust reclamation programs of battery components. 6. Participate in site acquisition/CERCLA processes. 7. Be a PoC with regulatory agencies for Environmental programs and permits.
Job Requirements:
- Requires a master’s degree in environmental engineering- 10 plus years of experience- PE certification preferred- Ability to manage many projects- Ability to lead and influence others- Strong leadership skills.
