The Opportunity:

The Director of Marketing drives internal and external marketing initiatives for Pela Case.  They will lead marketing efforts with expertise in digital marketing, growth, and web merchandising with a data-driven focus to achieve results.  This role will lead the team and execute based on a detailed understanding of our target market demographic and implement strategies and campaigns across email, social, search, and content development for our web properties. They will collaborate with Product Development on design and product inspiration to meet target market opportunities with a customer-first lens.  This role demands an individual who has exceptional digital marketing and eCommerce knowledge and has strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing plans and programs for the short and long term to ensure profitable growth and expansion 
  • Lead team of internal and external contributors across company marketing initiatives (creative production, digital design, performance marketing, PR, affiliate) with a key focus on direct-to-consumer eCommerce
  • Oversee successful web merchandising strategies to increase AOV and up-sell
  • Gather and interpret consumer and competitive insights to drive marketing strategy
  • Manage performance marketing and creative production agencies to drive advertising planning and buying across channels in alignment with our goals and budgets
  • Develop strategies to grow revenue while enhancing consumer experience across channels
  • Leverage contract support/outside vendors as required to achieve goals
  • Track and forecast marketing trends and analysis
  • Own consumer marketing campaigns, strategy, and execution for product launches in close collaboration with the Product Team. Contribute to product ideation and strategy via consumer needs and insights.
  • Relentless attention to customer needs, building brand awareness, and community engagement

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience with digital marketing/eCommerce, preferably managing $5M+ in annual advertising spend.
  • Strong background in consumer marketing utilizing various sources (search engine optimization, paid search, affiliate marketing, email, and paid social)
  • Experience leading a team and directly managing staff.  Able to motivate and direct both internal direct reports as well as external contractors
  • Effective collaborator, able to build relationships across the organization
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines for critical tasks
  • Highly organized with strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and teams and work cohesively to achieve company goals
