Job Brief

The Productization group seeks to develop innovative new manufacturing processes and automation tools to establish Twelve as a world leader in carbon transformation. It is composed of several different teams focused on different aspects of engineering, manufacturing, new product introduction, quality, and customer deployments of our CO2 conversion systems.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing the mechanical design of the productized CO2 conversion system, making it standardized, scalable, and easily deployable. As part of the Product Development team, you will partner with tech development, production, quality, and capital projects to develop the mechanical design from concept to prototype builds, and on to production and deployment.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the mechanical design engineering for productization of the CO2 conversion system and capital projects.
  • Define mechanical specifications and requirements of pressurized gas systems that includes valves, piping, and pressure vessels.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings of the mechanical components and systems.
  • Lead the build and testing of the prototype system.
  • Collaborate with process engineers and controls engineers to develop instrumentation.

Who You Are

  • You have a degree in a STEM field.
  • You have hands-on experience designing and building hardware for power plants, pressurized gas systems, or complex mechanical systems.
  • You can demonstrate:
    • Ability to create and read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
    • Experience designing and building pressurized gas systems (valves, piping, flow and pressure control, etc.
    • Experience with industry standards such as ASME BPVC and PED CAD experience.
  • Strong desire and curiosity to learn new things.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous, collaborative, and hands-on environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) at all levels of the enterprise.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
