Job Description

At Tomorrow.io, we’re driven to solve one of the world’s most critical and challenging problems – bringing access to essential weather data globally. Through software, we partner with some of the world’s leading organizations, institutions, and governments to change how they use technology to take advantage of cutting edge models and insights only available through the Tomorrow Platform.

Who is the Weather Product Manager?

At its core, the Weather Product Manager role centers around taking our observational data, weather modeling, and feature sets to the next level. Our customers come to us with an expectation that our technology will help them make more confident and informed decisions when they need us most. The Weather Product Manager is responsible for ensuring this reality by empowering the Tomorrow Platform with the highest fidelity weather information in the world.

What does the Weather Product Manager do?

As the Weather Product Manager, you will work as part of a driven and creative team of Product Managers, Engineers, Scientists, Marketers, Solutions Engineers, Customer Success Managers, Account Managers, and Business Development / Sales Representatives. You will be responsible for strategic decisioning and organization of the science team’s roadmap and priorities as well as the coordination of requirements and releases of new capabilities the team delivers. You will be the go-to source of communication between Science and our Go-To-Market teams while acting as the liaison between Science and the broader team of Product Managers. You will be involved in customer and sales discussions when needed and at times be asked to present key highlights of our upcoming roadmap to customers and others alike.

No two days are the same, but as the Weather Product Manager you can expect to:
  • Analyze the market and our internal validation and performance data to identify top priorities for our science teams to work on.

  • Work with the science team leads in designing a tangible roadmap and workplan to be communicated outward to the broader business.

  • Craft requirements documentation acting as a blueprint for the science team to execute on.

  • Scope the level of work required to execute on projects of high importance to the business.

  • Run validation on model data and organize reported weather misses from customers to understand gaps in our outputs and prioritize accordingly.

  • Identify key aspects of process improvement to sharpen our understanding of where performance improvements are most needed and how best we can communicate where we excel.

  • Coordinate the go-to-market release and messaging of key improvements to our data products and models with marketing, the customer team, and sales.

  • Present our capabilities and roadmap to customers and sales prospects to garner enthusiasm toward what we are doing.

  • Design and prioritize key weather experiences in the Tomorrow Platform to drive a best in class weather experience for customers.
  What we value:
  • A strong professional background in the Meteorological community. At least five years of experience in this type of professional setting.

  • We value team members who are hungry for understanding and don’t settle for. We value the desire to dive into the details of the data because that is the core of our work. We value a low ego because the outcome matters more than who gets the credit.

  • Able to build a case driven by data to justify a hypothesis and push when you believe in something.

  • Adaptive and introspective; willing to learn, teach, lead and follow.

  • Able to work with many different personalities and across different teams and areas of the globe. Able to tactfully change language depending on the audience.
  • Business-driven critical thinking skills. Always understands the broader context of why something may be important for us to do, but not necessarily the best thing to do now given circumstances and why.

  • Strong ability to communicate complicated topics into digestible formats for others to understand.

  • Organized and over-prepared with a can-do attitude.
So if owning the strategy and vision of Tomorrow.io’s core weather offering and being part of the fastest growing weather company in the world interests you, we’d love to hear from you.

If your experience is close but doesn’t fulfill all requirements, please apply. Tomorrow.io  is on a mission to build a special company. To achieve our goal, we are focused on hiring people with different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.

Tomorrow.io is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status.
