Senior Cloud Application Architect

We’re looking for a Senior Application Architect that will join our Platform Engineering team. In Platform Engineering, we publish code and guidance to other feature teams to help them accelerate their development, while building secure and scalable solutions. Our stack relies heavily on Python, Javascript, GitHub (including GitHub Actions), and AWS including the AWS CDK, among other tools. If you’re interested in helping us build the next set of services that will enable our customers to make the world a greener place and you’re well versed in building cloud-native applications, then this is the role for you.

The ideal candidate will have most of the following qualities:

• 5+ years with object oriented programming (Java, C#, Python, Javascript, Typescript, etc)
• 5+ years architecting and building applications in the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• 3+ years with CI/CD, git-based build/deploy workflows (including standard patterns such as IaaC and blue/green deployments)
• 2+ years architecting and building platform libraries and tools to be consumed by other internal teams
• Cross-team collaboration experience
• Experience with databases other than MySQL is a plus
• Ability to pick up new tools quickly and rapidly prototype them
• Experience with relational databases, especially MySQL
• Experience building containerized applications
• Experience managing container deployments a plus
• Experience with application security a plus
