We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. The goal of a Systems Engineer at Wisk is to ensure that all of the aircraft and ground systems are well integrated such that our autonomous aircraft performs and operates safely in an urban air-mobility environment. You will be responsible for the functional, logical, and physical architecture development, interface and requirements deliverables, as well as integrating and verifying its components to support a type certification.

Responsibilities

  • You will be deployed within the Aircraft Integration IPT, delivering high quality Systems Engineering artifacts for a novel type of aircraft system development targeting the autonomous UAM market.
  • You will develop functions, architecture, and requirements, you will integrate between system interfaces, and improve process strategy.
  • You will support the system requirements development and validation efforts, as well as problem solving activities at the aircraft or major system level for various systems such as, but not limited to: flight controls, onboard and ground avionics, battery management system, electrical distribution system, and propulsion system.
  • You will help coordinate and author the various means of compliance and issue papers to achieve type certification.
  • You will review safety critical system integration activities based on today's best system engineering practices, lessons learned, and guidelines, helping to define the strategy for system integration and validation activities and supporting safety zonal and particular risk assessments.
  • You will support the multiple trade studies needed to achieve the most efficient and optimized safety critical systems architectural solutions that meet performance, size, weight, power and safety requirements as applicable from the FAA/EASA regulations.
  • You will help define complex aircraft or major system interfaces using the best methods and tools available in the industry.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that the deliverables meet the technical standards established by the program. 
  • You will be detail and technically oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced and challenging environment. 
  • You will exemplify the culture, mission, values, vision and quality policy of the organization, through training, technical guidance, mentorship, feedback, and coaching. 

Required

  • B.S. in a relevant engineering discipline with at least 8 years experience in systems engineering, system integration, or aircraft certification.
  • Experience with various aircraft types and phases of development programs from conceptual design to entry into service, and were involved in trade studies leading to certifiable solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in development and decomposition of requirements, developing and allocating functions, and integrating complex, safety-critical systems. 
  • Strong applied knowledge of complex safety critical systems development process methodologies and associated practices such as ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-160, DO-178C, DO-254, or similar standards.
  • Strong applied understanding of the certification regulations from several of the following: Part 23, 25, 27, 29, 33, 35.
  • Experience in requirements management tools such as Polarion, Doors, Requiem etc. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desired

  • You are familiar with MBSE process, language (SysML, ARCADIA) and tools (CAMEO, CAPELLA, etc.) and its use in complex system development.
  • Experience with an aircraft or UAM development program from conceptual design through certification.
