Job Description

Who are we?

At Cogo, we're on a mission to help millions of people and businesses worldwide to understand and reduce their carbon footprint and create a fairer, more sustainable world. We believe in a new ‘impact economy’ where all businesses are a force for good.

We build tech solutions that help businesses and consumers measure and improve their impact. We have partnered with the biggest banks in the world and created a free consumer app and real-time API to empower individuals to use their money to shape a future they value. If you want to use your skills to help address some of the major challenges facing humanity, such as climate change, come join us!

Join our People Experience (PX) Team

In this role, you will work closely with the People Experience Team based in our New Zealand HQ, as well as the Director of Finance and EMEA CEO based in the UK, and will be tasked with guiding all aspects of the EMEA People Experience.

You will have a passion for building incredible company culture, and naturally look to put the people of Cogo front and centre of everything you do. You will have knowledge and experience with people practices but also great ideas that you are not afraid to suggest. You can be autonomous and resilient - with the desire to grow and shape this role. You will be organised, proactive and effective,  willing to suggest and make changes to our processes, helping us to adapt and improve how we currently do things. You will be inquisitive and dare to reevaluate the status quo and the traditional HR mindset. You will love speaking with people, both internal and external stakeholders, and be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with a talented team. Above all you will be passionately engaged in Cogo’s mission and excited to work in a company making a positive change in the world!

Your areas of focus will include:

  • Representing PX in the region, instilling and leading our culture and values in the EMEA market as well as championing, embedding and representing new policies when they arise.
  • A people first approach - supporting when issues arise, with an understanding of what distributed teams need from their People Experience Partner - as well as a general understanding of aspects of UK and EU employment legislation.
  • In being a growing global company, we need globally appropriate policies and initiatives, but with local nuance and consideration. We need our People Experience Partner to guide us as to any potential local issues we may face, and contribute these to our policies and solutions.
  • Working collaboratively with our distributed PX team to determine priorities and policies for our people - proactively and independently leaning into agreed projects, with the support of the Head of People Experience and the wider PX team.
  • Being a go-to person in the EMEA market - supporting our people and their leaders in the region and being a right hand person to our regional CEO.
  • The ability to contribute strategically about how we grow teams in new markets - what an appropriate structure could be, what markets need (culturally, language wise etc).  We don't expect you to be an expert and you won't be doing it alone, but we want someone with the knowledge and confidence in their own experience to take appropriate action when needed.
  • Working with the PX team and others on local networking and recruitment initiatives that improve the experience that people have with Cogo - we are growing fast and need to respond appropriately to this from a recruitment perspective.
  • Representing and supporting the EMEA region with day to day hiring needs.  This includes the processes and activities required for recruitment, visa and immigration, local onboarding, remote onboarding (utilising our tools for this) and offboarding.
  • ‘Vibe Manager’ EMEA! Planning value aligned team events and nurturing the fun and flexible Cogo culture.  Be the go-to person for our workplace in the region.
  • Own the success of our Health & Safety in EMEA.

Your skills include:

  • A range of skills and experience in people practice, from recruitment through to offboarding and everything that can occur in between.  Also, the desire to grow in this space with the support of your team.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. You know how vital good communication is, and you have the ability to balance the needs of Cogo as a business, but the needs of our people at Cogo - enforcing our policies but ensuring our people understand the why.
  • Experience with Bamboo (or similar HR SaaS platforms), Notion and G-Suite is advantageous but not essential.
  • A real drive and passion for creating a positive, impactful employee experience and delivering our inclusive and mission-driven company culture in the region.

The salary range for this role is £51,155 - £58,000, plus benefits.

If you think you’re a fit for the role, submit your application with a cover letter or video explaining why. This role will remain open until the 30th of September, so please submit your application before then.
