Job Description

Who are we?

At Cogo, we're on a mission to help millions of people and businesses worldwide to understand and reduce their carbon footprint and create a fairer, more sustainable world.

We build tech solutions that help businesses and consumers measure and improve their impact. We have partnered with the biggest banks in the world and created a free consumer app and real-time API to empower individuals to use their money to shape a future they value. If you want to use your skills to help address some of the major challenges facing humanity, such as climate change, come join us!

Join our Transaction API Team

Do you want to change the world for the better while continuing to build on your engineering experience? We are looking for people who have a learning mindset, and are comfortable with experimenting in a safe-to-fail environment, supported by a team and company working together for a more sustainable planet.

The Transaction API team builds and maintains the carbon tracking APIs used by internal and external clients, enabling customers to understand the impact of their decisions, and what actions they might take to mitigate that impact.

We’re transitioning to Elixir - an Erlang-based functional language - from a Node.JS stack. Learning and upskilling are an important part of the Cogo ethos, including our delivery teams. We are looking for people who yearn to learn; we’ll provide the tools, mentoring, support and opportunities to do so. Joining us means coaching in Elixir, then onwards into the world of carbon budgets, footprinting, and quantifiable climate actions!

Role Requirements

  • Working collaboratively with your peers to design, build, and maintain medium to large size features while reducing the system’s tech debt
  • Becoming the go-to person for one or more of our core technologies, and taking initiative to learn new ones
  • Owning the production operation and monitoring of the systems your work on
  • Teaching your skills to your team, mentoring team members to accelerate their career-growth
  • Questioning and adjusting our delivery processes, proactively looking for ways that we can improve
  • Troubleshooting problems across a wide array of services and functional areas

The salary for this role is $76,000 - $103,000 NZD.

This role will remain open until filled, so please send in your applications as soon as possible.
