Description:

We are seeking a Principal Full Stack Engineer to help amplify EnergyRM’s climate impact. You'll be working alongside the founding team to design, build, and ship software that helps buildings become more efficient energy users. This is an early role and you'll make a big impact, and there's lots of room to grow as we scale. The work will place you at the forefront of innovation in commercial building decarbonization and clean energy finance. 

What You’ll Do:

• Work closely with a small team to design and build new features
• Work across the tech stack
• Contributing to technology selection and architecture
  
• Help plan and prioritize the roadmap
• Participate in customer-facing requirements gathering and demos
  
• Help hire and manage top-level engineers

What you’ll bring:

• An eagerness to grow, learn new things, and solve complex problems.
• While not a requirement, preferably you'll have proficiency with some of our tech stack:
  • Frontend: React (TypeScript)
  • Backend: NodeJS (TypeScript) running Apollo GraphQL, TypeORM, and Bull
  • Cloud: AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL), AWS Fargate
    
• An ability to articulate a near- and long-term technical vision
  
• Strong analytical skills
• A collaborative work style
  
• You can effectively communicate with technical and non-technical people

Location:

Our team is 100% remote. We value human interaction and plan to get everyone together in person a few times per year in Portland, OR. Local employees have the option to work from EnergyRM’s Portland office.
