AMP Robotics is hiring a Sr. Hardware Test Engineer reporting to the Quality & Test Engineering Manager to focus on the quality and reliability of our hardware systems. You will be tasked with participating in the full hardware development life cycle from requirement and design review through release and continuous improvement activities. 

You will be given the authority to devise test strategies and approaches.  You will be encouraged to initiate improvements related to our quality processes.

To succeed in this role you should be highly organized and methodical in how you approach your work.  It is imperative that you have a passion for testing, root cause analysis and continually raising the bar for quality.

As our Sr. Hardware Test Engineer, you will work to:

  • Support the hardware design team to deliver highly reliable and quality outputs.
  • Participate in the requirement & design review process.
  • Coordinate FMEA activities and evaluate TRL throughout the product life cycle.
  • Design test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Contribute to functional and non-functional testing efforts.
  • Expand our testing capabilities by designing and building new test fixtures.
  • Leading failure and root cause analysis for electrical and mechanical non-conformances.
  • Develop department processes and best practices.
  • Support Quality Engineering and Manufacturing.

  • None

The successful candidate will have:

Required:

  • Passion for quality and continuous improvement of both product and process.
  • Expertise with leading RCA, Hazard Analysis and DFMEA.
  • Extensive knowledge of requirement management, verification and validation.
  • Hands-on experience with standard lab equipment, data acquisition hardware, and sensors.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with python (or similar) for data analysis.
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment.

Preferred: 

  • Certification in Six Sigma or similar. 
  • Experience with CAD (e.g. Solidworks, Altium).
  • Familiarity with industrial and safety standards (ISO, OSHA etc.).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and methods.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering focus)

Experience: 

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in this role

Travel Requirements: 

  • <10%

Salary & Compensation Information: $125,000-$135,000

Benefits Information:

  • Medical - The company covers up 85% to 100% of the premium for Cigna healthcare plans depending on the selection. Employees pay the difference in premium if they select a more expensive plan. Up to 75% for dependents.
