We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team. Your goal would be to help build and maintain productivity tools that make our data collection, analysis, and visualization more efficient. You will be part of the software and automation group that is responsible for all software development within the company.

Why we need you:

  • The successful candidate has been involved with all stages of the software development life cycle in designing, testing and deploying cloud-based data analysis and web applications.  In this role, the candidate must be curious, creative, collaborative and motivated by improving development efficiency of our engineers throughout the company.

What you will do:

  • Define and develop tools to improve the efficiency of our engineering teams
  • Work with development teams such as Autonomy, Aerodynamics, Controls and Flight Test to automate and optimize data collection, analysis, reporting and visualization
  • Create full-stack solutions that are highly automated and leverage cloud infrastructure with the ability to scale
  • Maintain and optimize existing solutions and codebases, standardizing across teams to minimize duplication of efforts

What you have done:

  • BS in CS, AE, ME, EE, or equivalent, with 10-15 years of relevant experience
  • Experience large datasets with relational and NoSQL database systems (Mongodb, BigQuery or similar)
  • Experience with one or more backend environments (Node.js, Django, or similar) and frameworks (Express.js or similar)
  • Experience with some front-end development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, REST, RPC, Websockets, SVG, or Canvas)
  • Experience building and scaling APIs (OpenApi or similar)
  • Experience with automation tools (Webpack or similar) and unit testing (Jest or similar)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes scaling applications in cloud environments (GCP and/or AWS)
  • Customer focused and passionate about usability and efficiency

Desired:

  • Keen interest in aviation or prior aerospace development experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Vue.js and/or React
  • Experience in a hybrid data infrastructure environment (on premise + cloud)
  • Demonstrated experience releasing and maintaining customer-facing applications
  • Passionate about automation and development efficiency
  • Experience with Typescript, Matlab, Simulink, Python, Jupyter Notebooks
