Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Senior or Principal)

QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. The company’s next-generation batteries are designed to enable longer range, faster charging and enhanced safety in electric vehicles to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future.

We are looking for an experienced cloud infrastructure engineer who can enable our software development and infrastructure build out as we move towards building a solid-state battery. The candidate would bring valuable insight into our most difficult infrastructure, networking and third-party software deployment challenges, and deliver solutions that are secure, scalable, and robust.

Architect and automate the management of our cloud infrastructure, working closely with IT, Software and DevOps teammates to provide a robust solution for hosting our critical software systems. We embrace the latest DevOps and infrastructure-as-code technologies, and empower our team members to push the boundaries of what is possible.
Responsibilities:Architect and manage our cloud using best practices in security, automation and observabilityMaintain networking and routing configuration and supporting infrastructure for applications deployed to the cloud as well as on-premiseWorking closely with internal customers to host, configure and maintain production third-party software to support our manufacturing scale-up
Requirements:5+ years of proven experience as a cloud infrastructure engineer.BS in computer science or equivalent fieldExperience with GCP cloud environment and infrastructure-as-code technologies such as TerraformExperience with configuration management tools such as AnsibleComfortable with Linux administration and provisioning of Linux VMsSolid understanding of Docker/K8sStrong scripting language experience in languages such as Bash or PythonExperience with CI/CD frameworks such as GitHub Actions
