Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Associate - Personal Shopper for EcoBuilding Bargains, the largest reclaimed building materials store in New England. The Retail Associate - Personal Shopper will work at the store location in Springfield, MA to sell reclaimed building materials to customers virtually. The Retail Associate - Personal Shopper will showcase the unique materials we carry for the distanced customer and help them use our products to solve their home improvement or building needs.

Would you like to use this experience to pioneer a unique method of sales? Job Responsibilities:

Personal Shopper and Customer Engagement

Conduct live virtual shopping appointments with customers via video conference from the retail store. Assist customers and provide exceptional customer experience through virtual platforms. Respond to inquiries accurately and efficiently via phone, chat, and video conference. Follow up with customers to ensure a satisfaction and provide resources as needed. Record and relay recurring customer feedback and insights to internal teams and make recommendations to improve the customer experience.

 

Product Expertise

Maintain the highest level of product knowledge. Stay up to date with all products and design/construction trends. Assist with merchandising and staging product to achieve the best results in a video call. Assist with developing methods to improve area operations, efficiency, and service.

 

Team Collaboration and In-Person Sales

Assist the retail floor with sales and merchandising as needed. Assist team with managing the daily workload of responding to customer emails and other communication platforms. Work with Marketing Team to maintain and promote active online shopping experience. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Offer

Commitment to community non-profit mission of EcoBuilding Bargains and CET. Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ in-person retail experience or inside sales experience preferred. Knowledge of building materials and building/remodeling practices or interior design preferred.

 

Experience responding to live chats and using a CRM platform is a plus. Excellent phone, email, and in-person communication skills required. Outgoing, friendly, and helpful personality with a positive attitude and a “no task is too small” mentality.

 

Self-starter with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Must be able to function in an office, on the retail floor, and must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to walk around the EcoBuilding Bargains showroom to be familiar with the ever-changing inventory and administer virtual appointments.
