Currently is a weather service for the climate emergency. Our mission is to cultivate timely and accurate weather information that supports community resilience and safety. We work to illuminate possible paths toward a liberated, habitable and joyful future for people and the environment alike. In addition to daily weather newsletters in 20+ cities around the world, our original journalism focuses on climate justice and our full-service weather service provides timely meteorological services to individuals, businesses, and nonprofits.
But we're just getting started. Our new social media coordinator will help us reach a much larger audience around the world.
We’ve seen massive surges of interest in our services in advance of major weather events, so the successful candidate must be able to coordinate with our editorial, partnerships, and weather teams to anticipate opportunities to help audiences discover our services when they are most valuable.
About the position:
Currently is looking for a Social Media Coordinator to manage Currently’s social content for all platforms. The coordinator will work closely with the editorial team and marketing team to share news content as well as content from partners and marketing materials. The position will also require covering breaking weather news via social platforms, particularly Twitter. This coordinator will be responsible for managing analytics across social platforms.
Additionally, the successful candidate will help us identify, build, and monetize new audiences.

This position is initially 20 hours per week with flexible hours, and core hours between 1-4 PM EST. This position has the potential to be quickly expanded to a full-time role.

Compensation:
Starting salary: $25-35/hour — advancing to $50,000-$75,000 for full-time, with benefits.
This position will start as approximately half-time, but is anticipated to become full-time by the end of 2022. Once this position becomes full-time equivalent, it will include a generous benefits package including health care, retirement, and unlimited paid time off.
