Job Overview

The Senior Manager, IT Operations is responsible for providing strategic and tactical leadership and guidance in the evolution of IT infrastructure and systems used by SCS. Reporting to the VP, Information Technology, this position will provide the necessary leadership to drive the strategic development and operations of all SCS enterprise infrastructure, endpoint, and cyber security services, with a focus on operational efficiency and customer experience. This role is responsible for planning, budgeting, resource management, vendor management, solutions architecture, compliance, project management, and team development.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the IT Operations teams; set goals, develop roadmaps, prioritize projects by interfacing with leadership and SCS stakeholders, recruit and develop staff, and drive employee engagement
  • Responsible for the operational teams that provide day to day production support including capacity planning, advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, vendor management, and ongoing process improvements
  • Work with senior leadership to define the IT Operations strategy and develop the necessary roadmaps to achieve those objectives
  • Advise on emerging technologies that should be integrated and/or introduced to ensure IT has the capabilities needed to respond to future business requirements
  • Coordinate with other IT leaders to develop efficient and synergistic approaches to delivering IT services to the business
  • Ensure all IT infrastructure and operations comply with SCS security standards and policies
  • Implement, maintain, and support both internally developed and third-party enterprise systems using best practices for incident, problem, request, and change management
  • Report on metrics and KPIs used to ensure alignment and measurement of team and departmental success
  • Proactive monitoring of all systems and integrations to ensure optimal uptime, user experience, and system performance
  • Responsible for managing all 3rd party vendors used to provide IT Operations services, and ensure they perform as expected and deliver the results needed using metrics reporting and baselines

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, including SQL server experience, cloud infrastructure, networking, server and storage, and cyber security.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Strong vendor management and partner relation skills
  • Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing
  • Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered, unless precluded by local and national jurisdiction. Pursuant to local and national law--proof of vaccination required. Medical and religious accommodations will also be considered.

Physical Requirements

Sit 6+ hours per day. Keyboarding 6+ hours per day. Must be able to speak and listen in person and on the phone.
