Our Energy Assessments Division (EAD) assesses California&rsquo;s electricity, natural gas, petroleum, and transportation systems and trends to provide information to the state&rsquo;s decision makers and the public. These assessments inform the development, and implementation, of energy policies that balance the need for adequate resources with economic, public health, safety, and environmental goals. The Sector Modeling Unit within the Demand Analysis Branch forecasts electricity and natural gas demand for the residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors. These forecasts are part of the California Energy Demand Forecast used for electricity planning in the state and the CEC&rsquo;s long-term demand scenarios project that informs state planning to reach the greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.

Desirable Qualifications:

<li>Familiarity with forecasting methods including econometric / regression modeling techniques and end use modeling.</li>
<li>Familiarity with energy related analysis, a broad understanding of the state&rsquo;s energy policies, and their impact on energy demand and the state&rsquo;s electricity system.</li>

Director of the Integrated Energy Policy Report

<h3>About the Technology &amp; Analytics Team</h3>
The Technology and Analytics (TA) team furthers MCE&rsquo;s pursuit to find more innovative solutions to the challenges facing CCAs today. The team uses its deep knowledge of technology and data sciences to provide platforms, systems, and facilities to the wider MCE team so that decision makers can be confident that their choices are backed up by hard data. The TA team is also responsible for all of MCE&rsquo;s operational platforms, from MCE&rsquo;s email system to its CRM platform. <h3>As a CRM Analyst</h3>
You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of MCE&rsquo;s CRM platform. <h3>As a Senior Legislative Manager or Legislative Manager</h3>
You will evaluate proposed legislation and assess the impact on MCE, recommend MCE positions on issues, and help communicate MCE&rsquo;s positions in the Legislature and other forums. You have a clear understanding of MCE&rsquo;s impact on energy-related matters and, at the Senior level, provide recommendations on farthing the impact. <h3>As a Director of Power Origination, Power Resources</h3>
As a Director of Power Origination you will be a leader in sourcing, negotiating, and structuring complex contracts. You will manage a team within the Power Resources department committed to delivering value for our portfolio of assets. You will be responsible for a wide range of energy procurement activities for supply of Greenhouse Gas-free energy (GHG-free), Asset Controlling Supply (ACS), and renewable energy. Customer energy usage data, and access to that data by non-utility entities, is a growing issue that impacts several programs and initiatives that the Commission oversees. This is a high visibility position that will require briefing Commissioners and advisors and working closely with other Energy Division staff, interested parties and consultants, if hired for technical support.</div>
