This year we are focused on building power to elect&nbsp;<a href="https://www.gndrising.org/our-champions/" rel="noopener">Green New Deal Champion MPs</a>&nbsp;in key election battlegrounds, delivering breakthrough actions, running powerful campaigns targeting opposition parties and growing and strengthening our movement.
In this role you&rsquo;ll be working to meet on-the-ground organising targets and get Green New Deal Champions elected. You&rsquo;ll be based in our Electoral &amp; Organising Team, working closely with our Battlegrounds Organiser and have opportunities for training and development across electoral and organising skills.

What is Allied Climate Partners (ACP)?&nbsp;
ACP is a philanthropically-backed investment organization with a mission to accelerate the flow of capital for the climate transition in emerging economies. ACP&rsquo;s goal is to aggregate equity for climate-focused, early-stage project development and business funds. The funds are meant to address a critical bottleneck in sustainable infrastructure &ndash; the lack of bankable, climate-related projects and businesses. ACP selects regional investment managers and makes anchor investments of first-loss equity. ACP&rsquo;s initial focus regions are Southeast Asia, Africa, Caribbean &amp; Central America, and India. ACP is building on the initial success and proof of concept of the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility (<a href="https://www.seacef.org/">SEACEF</a>). ACP&rsquo;s first fund commitment was to anchor SEACEF II, managed by Clime Capital, which reached a $127M first close in December 2023. SEACEF II makes catalytic, early-stage investments in climate-focused projects and companies in Southeast Asia. Over time, ACP intends to aggregate capital to support strategies focused on catalyzing capital formation around business platforms addressing other aspects of energy transition in developing economies.&nbsp;

ACP&rsquo;s Investments&nbsp;
ACP&rsquo;s investment activities are primarily focused on investments in funds, where ACP will act as a foundational / anchor Limited Partner committing first-loss junior equity in blended finance fund structures.&nbsp; A key element of ACP&rsquo;s investment approach is to catalyze fund formation itself by creating or co-creating fund mandates for investment in climate-related projects and companies alongside general partners and then making the first commitments to the fund.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The initial focus of ACP is on investment in dedicated climate funds that invest equity (and convertible debt) into projects, project platforms and early-stage companies. ACP is not seeking to invest in funds that take technology risk, preferring those that are focused on accelerating the deployment of well-understood globally-derisked climate solutions in emerging economies.&nbsp;

The Role
ACP is seeking a Vice President, Investments (VP) as an integral member of ACP&rsquo;s global investing team. The VP will report to the Managing Director, Investments.&nbsp;
As a member of ACP&rsquo;s global investing team, the VP will contribute to all the steps of ACP&rsquo;s investment process in a collaborative fashion with other members of the team. This begins with fully understanding the challenges and opportunities in each region and/or sector by actively engaging with market participants and performing qualitative and quantitative market analysis leading to a proposed theory of change. The VP will then plan and execute on the process of creating / co-creating tailored, high-impact, ACP fund mandates and strategies. To fulfill these mandates, the VP will contribute to sourcing, evaluating, and recommending potential fund managers. The VP will also conduct due diligence on the selected funds and support the MD in all transactions for ACP. Post fund investment, the VP will work collaboratively with selected fund managers to add value to their activities and help them succeed and grow.&nbsp;

However, estimates suggest that roughly 215 million people will be left behind because they live in risky or remote, rural areas where investors have been unable or unwilling to go. In the last decade, there has been a steady increase in financing available for clean, renewable energy, but that money is largely directed towards wealthier nations. Even when investment dollars are directed to low-income regions, they are not always directed where the need is greatest.About the role Acumen’s Strategic Initiative “Hardest to Reach” (“H2R”) Impact Debt fund is seeking an Investment Associate to lead the Investments of H2R. H2R’s is working to bring clean energy to some of the “hardest to reach” countries in Africa. We will bolster markets and provide capital to off-grid companies enabling clean energy access via two vehicles: the Market Support Facility (Hardest to Reach philanthropic vehicle) and the Market Expansion Facility (Hardest to Reach Impact Debt Fund). This role will be involved in sourcing, evaluating, underwriting and managing private credit investments for off-grid solar enterprises to expand and grow in identified H2R countries.This role will report to the Investment Director, Debt Fund. Accountabilities include : Deal Execution<ul><li>Lead multiple transactions in parallel throughout the entire deal lifecycle, from origination to closing with a focus on financial and impact due diligence.</li><li>Conduct financial analysis and create financial models. </li><li>Write Investment Memoranda and present investment opportunities to the Investment Committee</li><li>Financial modeling – including review, stress-testing and carrying out scenario analysis.</li><li>Work closely with Sustainable Developmental Impact (SDI) and Health Safety Environmental and Social (HSES) teams on respective assessments.</li><li>Work with internal teams for client on-boarding, KYC checks and related tasks.</li></ul>Portfolio Management<ul><li>Monitor investment performance: It’s about understanding the core issues and where to intervene. And it’s also about covenant compliance, periodic/annual reviews, examining amendments and waiver requests, providing performance updates to managers, identifying, and acting on warning signals, participating in portfolio reviews, cooperating in the validation of impact data collection and analysis and incentives to borrowers for extending first time clean energy access.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Qualifications :<ul><li>Minimum 5 years of work experience, at least 3 years of experience in finance, ideally in an investment capacity leading or supporting debt and/or equity transactions. </li><li>Strong analytical skills and ability to build financial models for corporate finance transactions.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Great communication skills and ability to develop and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Preferred : demonstrated interest in impact investing.</li><li>Preferred : professional experience investing or working in Sub-Saharan Africa</li><li>Ability to get up to speed quickly in a technical area of work, and to understand and navigate complex issues. </li><li>Proactive, solutions-oriented, and operate from a place of integrity  </li><li>Self-reflective and aligned with Acumen values. </li><li>Authorized to work in the UK</li><li>Willingness to travel as needed</li></ul>Deadline Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis through 20 April, 2024.#LI-ACU1

Acumen is looking for an Operations Associate with a minimum of 2 years of experience to manage Europe fundraising operations and support the team in effectively stewarding and engaging donors, and coordinating local events. This role reports into the Head of Development &amp; Partnerships, Europe. About the Role Reporting to the Head of Development &amp; Partnerships, Europe, the Europe Development &amp; Partnerships Associate will support Acumen’s Europe fundraising efforts. This position will manage Europe fundraising operations and support the team in effectively stewarding and engaging donors. This role is part of the global Operations team, and will engage with this group on global projects from time to time. This role is based in London. Accountabilities include:Donor Management &amp; Stewardship<ul><li>Support in building a focused list of Europe prospects by conducting research on relevant individuals, corporations, and foundations and drafting meeting briefings</li><li>Manage local donor engagement touchpoint tracking and reminders</li><li>Provide project management support to the Head of D&amp;P, Europe, with the goal of engaging Acumen’s donor base</li><li>Support with gathering information for donor reports and proposals and coordinating with global colleagues to support the team to ensure timely submissions</li><li>Support with the development of key collateral for donor cultivation, including decks, and drafting tailored emails to tailored to individual interests</li></ul>Salesforce database management<ul><li>Ensure all accounts are kept up to date</li><li>Ensure donations are recorded accurately and ensure revenue totals are accurate</li><li>Create and pull necessary reports for fundraising analysis</li><li>Draft necessary gift processing documents</li></ul>Event Coordination<ul><li>Partner with the Events Manager to manage the logistics of Europe events - securing and coordinating with venue, catering, and other vendors </li><li>Building and managing event page for invitations</li><li>Coordinating invite/attendee list </li><li>Event briefings and reporting</li></ul>Team operations<ul><li>Support the D&amp;P team in Europe with the smooth running of team operations, including supporting with scheduling meetings</li></ul>Qualifications and Skills:The ideal candidate is highly organized, has some experience supporting fundraising operations, is a good project manager, works well on a collaborative team, and has a passion for leveraging the power of social entrepreneurship to create impact.<ul><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising or sales operations or project management</li><li>Highly organized and detail oriented</li><li>Strong operational skills: establishes priorities, people and project management, problem solving and project management, including the ability to work and deliver projects independently, proactively, and timely</li><li>Data analysis and reporting</li><li>Exceptional relationship and interpersonal skills: courtesy, tact, patience, and strong teamwork. </li><li>Clear writer and verbal communicator</li><li>Highly collaborative and able to work cross-functionally effectively</li><li>The ability to proactively anticipate needs before they arise and take action without being asked, notices opportunities to create new systems and procedures when necessary</li><li>Seeks and provides constructive feedback. </li><li>Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce is a plus.</li><li>Self reflective and aligned with Acumen values. </li><li>Permanently authorized to work in the UK</li></ul>Deadline: Submit applications as early as possible as applications will be reviewed and interviews scheduled on a rolling basis.
