Duties Description Duties Description:This position is in DEC’s Division of Materials Management Region 5 sub-office in Warrensburg. The incumbent will perform the following duties under the supervision of senior program staff:• Monitor and inspect hazardous waste management facilities subject to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).• Prepare inspection reports, notices of violation and initiate enforcement actions to address violations, as necessary.• Provide RCRA technical assistance to the public and regulated community.• Respond to FOIL requests using DEC's GovQA software. • Analyze data in order to evaluate the environmental impacts of active and inactive facilities.• Provide technical support to law enforcement, legal and other division staff in the investigation of illegal sites.• Evaluate submittals for compliance with regulatory and technical standards and issue registrations.• Respond to and investigate complaints.• Prepare and present results of analyses, inspections, and research assignments to managers and other department staff.Essential Functions:Must be competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point. Must be able to manage multiple projects and work both independently and in a team environment. Must be able to read and interpret regulations, technical documents and engineering plans. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to interact effectively and professionally with other department staff and the general public. Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
