Position Overview
The Associate Director of Engineering or Director of Engineering will be the most senior member of the engineering team and will be responsible for review, analysis, documentation, and tracking of all energy engineering and related technical aspects of projects financed by NYCEEC, with an emphasis on assessing technical capacities of counterparties and others responsible for project completion and successful operation, and on evaluating and documenting the energy and environmental impacts of projects NYCEEC finances.&nbsp; The Associate Director of Engineering or Director of Engineering will also provide technical and engineering support and education to NYCEEC staff as needed, as well as guidance on technical and engineering matters in furtherance of NYCEEC&rsquo;s mission.

The designation of the individual as Associate Director of Engineering or Director of Engineering will depend on the prior experience of the individual. Overview
As a New Product Introduction Engineer at Channing St. Copper Co., you will play a crucial role in developing equipment and processes for cutting-edge Energy Storage Equiped (ESE) appliances. You will collaborate with our cross-functional team throughout the entire product launch lifecycle, from design to full production ramp. <li>Decarbonizing buildings: The world is building the equivalent of a NYC every month for the next 35 years, and buildings are a massive untapped resource from an energy, economic, and climate lens. Nearly vacant buildings saved only 10% energy and costs during COVID! On top of this, 31 cities in the US now have energy and carbon reporting obligations, with 15 requiring mandatory disclosures for energy consumption and efficiency. This problem isn&rsquo;t limited to just the US - buildings were a central part of COP28, the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Dubai last November and all stakeholders including central governments, NGOs, utilities were extremely aligned on the need for speed and scale.</li>
<li>The opportunity: But identifying what to do to save energy, cut costs and lower carbon emissions costs building owners thousands of dollars and takes hundreds of hours of manual effort. The industry is not prepared for the mounting wave of energy efficiency, sustainability, and high-performing buildings, and we&rsquo;re here to change that.</li>

What you&rsquo;ll do
The core of our company are proprietary systems that bring together all the pieces needed to retrofit a building, from clean energy technology, to financial modeling. You&rsquo;ll make sure this is built on a solid technological foundation. As an early-stage leadership hire, you&rsquo;ll have an incredible upside on growth and impact in the dynamic ClimateTech space.&nbsp;
BlueUrbn&rsquo;s mission is to be an energy company of the future with a focus on the built environment. As such, scaling energy efficiency and clean energy cannot be scaled with traditional one-off methods, but rather require an extensive application of machine learning, generative AI, computer vision, and cloud energy modeling. You&rsquo;ll be tasked with reforming our internal capabilities and developing products from MVP to the first customer-focused tools.
You&rsquo;ll define our technical strategy and roadmap, and be in charge of growing our technology team. This will include hiring, and intersecting with evolving teams across different areas (e.g., product, business, science). We expect you to get your hands dirty, but also help us nurture the high-level vision for the company, working closely with the CEO and the rest of the leadership team. Your job might include coding, user interviews, design sprints and constantly launching new features.
