The Sr Manager, Transmission Analytics will report to the VP of Grid Integration and Transmission Analytics. The Sr Manager will be responsible for conducting SCED analysis for operating and development assets, develop and maintain models for SCED runs. In addition, the Sr Manager will conduct and coordinate research with the rest of the Transmission and Analytics group, Asset Management group, regional Development groups and other internal teams as required and relevant to the business needs. It is further expected that the successful candidate will make frequent presentations on congestion, energy market, and transmission related issues to senior level management.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Running PROMOD/DAYZER analysis for assessing congestion/curtailment risks for operating and development projects.</li><li>Maintaining and developing models and databases and assumptions files for congestion and curtailment modeling and other studies:</li><ul><li>The analyst will build and maintain models, data files, processes, and systems for historical and forward-looking congestion analyses, and for development of medium term and long-term congestion forecasts.</li><li>The analyst will also undertake fundamental, or market research as needed for special projects/initiatives such as solar and storage integration or other transmission/congestion related assessments, or to identify future market trends and transmission or interconnection process changes that can impact curtailment and congestion risks.</li></ul><li>Tracks transmission expansion plans and any changes to the Grid, market rules and their impacts on market prices, capacity, and competitiveness of a site.</li><li>Create tools to conduct the transmission analyses.</li><li>Conduct historical and forward-looking congestion analyses for SBE’s operating and development assets.</li></ul> Qualifications:<ul><li>A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related quantitative discipline is strongly preferred.</li><li>A minimum of 7 years’ experience in economic modeling or data analyses is required.</li><li>Strong understanding of power systems and Locational Marginal Pricing (LMP) fundamentals is required.</li><li>Demonstrated competency in other modeling, statistical analysis, and/or optimization software highly desired.</li><li>Experience in detailed economic modeling of transmission networks, thermal and renewable generators using PROMOD, DAYZER, Plexos, or Aurora is strongly preferred.</li><li>Basic knowledge/experience running power flows either in PSS/E, TARA or PSLF or Power World.</li><li>Working knowledge of CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, and WECC wholesale electricity markets highly desired.</li><li>Proven problem solving and negotiation skills.</li><li>Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in applying established transmission techniques, procedures, or standards.</li><li>Basic knowledge of Python and SQL is desired.</li><li>Requires advanced communication skills to insure clear communication internally &amp; Senior Manager, Transmission Analytics
