The mission of WPTO is to accelerate U.S. deployment of clean, affordable, and reliable renewable power from the full range of the nation's water power resources to promote national security, economic growth, and environmental quality. Responsibilities This position serves as Director of DOE's Water Power Technologies Office, which is a key member of the EERE senior leadership team. The Director oversees research and development of advanced technologies to transform U.S. hydropower and marine and hydrokinetic (MHK) water resources into clean, affordable, and domestically-produced power. Summary The Idaho Cleanup Project (ICP) is directly responsible for the management and oversight of the treatment, storage, and disposition of a variety of radioactive and hazardous waste streams, removal and disposition of targeted buried waste, and the removal of DOE's inventory of spent nuclear fuel and high-level waste from Idaho.
