We are hiring a Design Lead to help make our product the easiest way to transact &amp; manage transferable tax credits. The status quo process is manual &amp; onerous: from pairing supply with demand, through to executing a transaction &amp; reporting on it in an ongoing way. We&rsquo;ve built the first version of a product that solves part of that problem, but need to iterate &amp; expand through the workflow.

The PM is responsible for the project budget, timely completion of the project (schedule), and contract compliance during the construction phase.  The PM will manage Engineering, Procurement and Construction (“EPC”) partners, leverage and coordinate SB Energy’s internal expertise, and be the main representative for the project both internally and externally. The PM is expected to be the principal decision maker in all aspects during the construction phase.  Responsibilities <ul><li>Ownership of the BESS and PV+BESS projects from Limited Notice to Process (“LNTP”) to Final Acceptance. </li><li>Manage turn-key EPC contract(s) for the PV, BESS, or PV+BESS project. </li><li>Coordinate the internal SB Energy team (Development, Power Marketing, Interconnection, Engineering, Capital Markets, Permitting, Procurement, Quality, Real Estate, Safety, O&amp;M, Asset Management, etc.) to ensure project success. </li><li>Maintain the project budget (contingency use, cash flow, invoicing/billing, etc.). </li><li>Maintain the project schedule, P6 experience preferred. </li><li>Provide project updates to SB Energy leadership and external partners. </li><li>Interface with landowners, public utilities and power purchasers to ensure conditions and milestones of site control agreement(s), interconnection agreement(s), and power purchase agreement(s) are met. </li><li>Engage with authorities having jurisdiction and applicable permitting authorities/agencies to support issuance and closure of permits for the project, including but not limited to, special/conditional use permit(s), environmental permits, and SWPPP permits. </li><li>Schedule and coordinate the project commissioning and close-out activities (with support from the EPC partner). </li><li>Coordinate with the project independent engineer (lender representative) to support the financial milestones/closings. </li><li>Assist in the hand-off of the project from the Development team to the Projects team at LNTP and manage the hand-off of the project to the O&amp;M and Asset Management teams at FC. </li><li>Develop and manage the project risks, scope gap, and/or scope creep; mitigate each accordingly by aligning resources to address both internal and external. </li><li>Directly manage project specific Project Coordinator(s), delegating project tasks as needed. </li><li>Coordinate with SB Energy Construction team to ensure on-site supervision and execution of EPC Contract is satisfactory. </li><li>Assist SBE Energy Legal and Procurement teams in contracting EPC Contract and any other scopes necessary for project execution.  </li><li>Maintain contract and regulatory compliance working closely with Legal team. </li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li>7-10 + years of experience managing utility-scale PV, BESS, and PV+BESS projects.  </li><li>Experience performing the above duties and responsibilities for utility-scale PV and BESS projects in the CASIO market. </li><li>Ability to travel 25-50% of the time, as needed. </li><li>Expertise in MS Office Suite, MS Project, P6, Monday.com and other project management tools. </li><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.  </li></ul>Location: Redwood City or San Diego, CA; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ preferred. This position will follow up on requests for T24 compliance, missing construction information, and building code research while working with individual builder needs. Knowledge of technical communication and relentless task tracking are essential for success. </div><div> </div><div>A successful engineer in this role will understand all aspects of the community projects to coordinate clearly and maximize efficiency, work hard to track open items, and follow up with the appropriate party to deliver correct information on time. The position also requires strong interpersonal skills and impeccable task management. </div><div>This is intended to be an entry-level position in the solar industry and mid-size residential construction. The position involves learning solar construction management and solar design engineering as you advance in your role. </div><div> </div><div> </div> <h3>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Communicate effectively during daily interactions with clients to interpret their requirements and needs</li><li>Maintain quality control and reviewing plan sets for correctness and compliance</li><li>Communicate effectively with the account managers, operation managers, and other team members to aid and provide technical support</li><li>Generate process maps and related documentation</li><li>Creative, optimistic, and a team player</li><li>Create and maintain metrics and reports in various formats</li><li>Supports drafting by researching AHJ requirements</li><li>Updating and following up with T24 compliance</li></ul><h3>Required Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>Bachelors in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline required</li><li>EIT in Mechanical Engineering</li><li>Basic proficiency in AutoCAD</li><li>0 to 2 years of experience in residential construction or the solar industry</li><li>Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools, exposure to schedule software</li><li>Preferred Qualifications:</li><li>Salesforce reporting and data analysis proficiency </li><li>Highly proficient in AutoCAD</li><li>Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline</li><li>Familiarity with home battery or microgrid applications</li><li>Understanding of the NEC and State Building Codes</li></ul><h3>Physical Demands and Working Conditions:</h3><ul><li>At SunPower, we value the health and safety of all our team members. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,700/year to $103,100/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
