You have a keen eye for detail on technical aspects, team development, the ability to support emerging markets within Nexamp’s growing network, and support and track outage resolution tickets and operational KPIs.This role is based out of our Chicago HQ office and will report to the Director, Construction. Please note, candidates must be based in Illinois or St. Louis.What you’ll do:  <ul><li>Develop operational policies and procedures for maximizing safety, performance, and profitability for DG scale solar &amp; BESS projects. Provide policy and procedure updates to construction teams. </li><li>Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts. Develop best practices and standard tools to continuously improve operational efficiency.</li><li>Monitor key metrics and develop operational strategies for profitability. </li><li>Develop a project matrix with the Project Management team. Develop a workforce plan for each project to include the general labor needs, supervisors, site management, and equipment necessary for each project, as well as key employees and training needs. Manage contracts for subcontract Construction Supervisors.</li><li>Forecast staffing of field personnel.</li><li>Manage and develop training strategies. The PM is responsible for the project budget, timely completion of the project (schedule), and contract compliance during the construction phase.  The PM will manage Engineering, Procurement and Construction (“EPC”) partners, leverage and coordinate SB Energy’s internal expertise, and be the main representative for the project both internally and externally. With our solar projects, we help local organisations like schools or hospitals to replace their polluting diesel generators with clean solar systems. We do this by reducing the installation cost of solar systems through procurement of the necessary equipment at reduced wholesale prices from world leading suppliers. Also, we help our local partners with financing to afford the upfront investment into a solar system. That way, our local partners do not only avoid a lot of CO2 emissions but also substantial expenses for diesel that are constraining their already tight budgets.

Position Overview
Aid Pioneers is looking for a Technical Expert for its Solar Projects! If you are ready to use your technical expertise for good and empower local communities by helping them make the switch from diesel to solar energy, then you are the right person for us! In this role you will plan and implement solar installation projects for schools and hospitals in East Africa and the Middle East.
 
Your role

It is critical for success that the EH&amp;S Manager has experience working within the microelectronics industry and demonstrates skills that bring value to the research and development team.</div> <h3>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Workplace Environment/Safety</h3><ul><li>Develop and implement effective programs for maintaining, enhancing, and fostering an Incident and Injury Free safety culture.</li><li>Conduct daily, monthly, and quarterly EHS inspections.</li><li>Leads EHS committees and teams, and facilitates their activities.</li><li>Coordinate effective training programs to ensure EHS compliance.</li><li>Ensures compliance of safety showers and eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, exhaust systems, fume hoods, etc. and manage the Emergency Response Teams.</li><li>Oversee key programs such as Ergonomics, Electrical Safety, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Equipment Safety, and Machine Guarding.</li></ul><h3>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: City, County, State, National Regulatory &amp; Compliance</h3><ul><li>Assure EH&amp;S is implemented and maintained for R&amp;D, with emphasis on core regulatory compliance, assuring the facility and operation operates within applicable policies and procedures.</li><li>Responsible for all regulatory compliance, including air permits, wastewater treatment &amp; discharge, hazardous materials, stormwater, OSHA, and internal policies.</li><li>Stays abreast of current (EPA, OSHA, BAAQMD, CAL OSHA, CAL EPA) and emerging laws, regulations, and trends in environment and safety.</li><li>Oversee chemical approval program and Safety Data Sheets, OSHA logs, EH&amp;S related files and associated paperwork (manifests, permits, etc.)</li><li>Responsible for compliance with city fire regulations, including oversight of signage, detection and alarm systems, fire extinguisher inspections, emergency response team.</li></ul><h3>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Waste</h3><ul><li>Oversees hazardous waste collection and disposal to ensure compliance with city, state, and federal regulations.</li><li>Oversees solid and hazardous wastes recycling (modules, coupons, silicone, glass, etc.) programs.</li></ul><h3>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Equip Safety</h3><ul><li>Directly support the R&amp;D team in process equipment design review and safely implementing new technologies and equipment.</li></ul><h3>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other Functions</h3><ul><li>Collaborate with other functional peer groups to achieve goals and complete projects at the R&amp;D and corporate levels, especially R&amp;D Facilities Daily/Weekly Manager peer group.</li></ul><h3>Experience Required</h3><ul><li>10+ years of EH&amp;S experience in the solar, semiconductor, electronic or related industry including at least 3 years of managing EH&amp;S staff.</li><li>Strong knowledge of the semiconductor, electronics and construction industries, with emphasis on photovoltaic/solar energy products</li><li>Strong technical and regulatory background in environment, health, and safety.  Solid knowledge of relevant EH&amp;S related federal (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.), state (Cal-OSHA, DTSC, RWQCB, etc.), and local laws (BAAQMD, Richmond and San Jose Ordinances, applicable county codes, etc.).</li></ul><h3>Educational Requirements</h3><ul><li>BS in science, engineering, or a relevant environmental, health and safety curriculum required</li></ul><h3>Preferred Requirements</h3><ul><li>Master’s degree or equivalent years of experience is desirable</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills</li><li>Good verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external individuals, including the ability to write reports, policies, and procedures.</li><li>Computer literate in Microsoft products: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li><li>Possess leadership skills that are capable of generating cooperation and progress across different functions within the organization.</li><li>Must be goal-oriented, metrics-driven, and give emphasis to meeting target dates in a timely manner.</li><li>Knowledge of ISO &amp; OHSAS standards; Lead Auditor certification is a plus.</li></ul><h3>Other Pertinent Information</h3><ul><li>Limited domestic travel will be required, with potential for infrequent international travel - 50% of travelling required.</li><li>Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the US.</li><li>Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and have a personal vehicle to travel between job sites – no use of motorcycles or scooters during business hours </li><div> </div><div> </div></ul> <div>Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and underrepresented minorities are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification.
