Position Details&nbsp;
CPI is recruiting for one (1) full time position to be based either in our San Francisco (preferred) or Washington D.C. office. CPI has adopted hybrid working whereby staff are able to work a mix of remote and in the office. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually.&nbsp;

The Climate Justice Grants and Scholarships Program Manager is responsible for developing and managing the organization&rsquo;s training scholarship program. This position will identify and select scholarship recipients, communicate with awardees, collaborate with staff and vendors to manage the logistics (travel, housing, per diem, etc.) for scholarship recipients selected to attend Climate Reality Project Leadership Trainings, and work with the Engagement Team on post-training programming.

The Legislative Advocacy Senior Manager will work within the Campaigns department and will be responsible for leading the organization&rsquo;s US federal and state climate policy advocacy work as well as IRA implementation efforts. This position will oversee the Legislative Associate and Regenerative Agriculture Organizer, and will report to the Global Campaigns Director. They will work closely with the US Field team to increase the engagement of Climate Reality volunteer-led US Chapters (&ldquo;Chapter&rdquo;), trained Climate Reality Leaders, and Chapter members.&nbsp; Currently, Chapters are focused on federal, state, and local campaigns to enact solutions to the climate crisis, including&nbsp;Our Climate Moment&trade;: Let&rsquo;s Get to Work,&nbsp;From Acts to Action, 100% Committed,&nbsp;regenerative agriculture practices, and petrochemical opposition in addition to local Chapter initiatives.&nbsp;
The Legislative Advocacy Senior Manager will manage our US federal and state policy advocacy efforts and provide strategic guidance to Chapters for our US campaigns.&nbsp;In addition, they will be point on identifying new state and local engagement opportunities for advocates, creating campaign plans and proposals, tracking impact, and running tests on campaign efficacy. &nbsp;We are looking for a team player, a strong people and project manager, and an effective communicator who will work closely with cross-team Climate Reality staff to build and drive effective campaigns and grow overall US volunteer engagement.

For five decades, the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) has played a pivotal role in shaping the fields of environmental law, policy, and management, both domestically and internationally.
ELI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Director to lead our Network for the Digital Economy and the Environment (nDEE) program, which aims to understand and address the environmental impact of the digital economy. The Program Director will be responsible for designing and executing projects that explore the intersections between technology, the digital economy, and the environment and for informing actionable policy to mitigate the direct and indirect negative impacts of digital technologies on the planet.

ABOUT NDEE
The Network on the Digital Economy and the Environment (nDEE) is a collaboration of the Environmental Law Institute, Yale University, and the University of California at Berkeley. The nDEE&rsquo;s mission is to catalyze and disseminate research on the energy and environmental impacts of the digital economy. These three institutions provide the initiative with a national presence and expertise in environmental assessment, management, policy, and law.
The nDEE&rsquo;s activities also include research development, grantmaking, and publishing and are jointly funded by the Internet Society Foundation (ISOC) and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The nDEE also manages a Research Coordination Network (RCN) through additional funding from the National Science Foundation.
RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Develop and execute a research-to-action agenda that explores the environmental impact of the digital economy, with a focus on use-inspired research that can lead to actionable policies, more sustainable business practices, or environmentally beneficial consumer choices or behaviors.</li>
<li>Lead a team of program staff and provide guidance and support as needed to ensure high-quality work and timely completion of deliverables.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the digital technology and environmental fields, including funders, researchers, companies, industry groups, non-governmental organizations, and policy makers, to advance the program's mission and goals.</li>
<li>Engage with academic, policy, and advocacy communities to stay informed about developments in relevant fields and promote the organization's research and advocacy efforts.</li>
<li>Incentivize engagement across the science-policy gap of these research topics, building researcher and user communications and translation skills, facilitating more networking and professional partnerships, and expanding outreach activities at both research and policy-making institutions.</li>
<li>Write reports, policy briefs, and other documents that communicate research findings and recommendations to various audiences, including policy makers, industry leaders, and the general public.</li>
<li>Represent the program and ELI more broadly at conferences, meetings, and other public events, presenting research findings and participating in panels and discussions.</li>
<li>Connect programmatic learnings and deliverables to ELI's work, facilitating and encouraging cross-pollination with the institution more broadly.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS

<li>10+ years of policy experience working on environmental or sustainability issues, preferably with a focus on digital technology.</li>
<li>A Master&rsquo;s or Ph.D. or equivalent training and expertise in a relevant field, such as environmental studies, economics, computer science, engineering or public policy.</li>
<li>Familiarity with the political and policy making landscape in Washington, DC.</li>

The Climate/Energy Education Fellow is supported through an innovative partnership between Centralia College, Strategic Energy Innovations (SEI), and TransAlta; with funds provided by Centralia Coal Transition Grants. Aimed at addressing Washington state&rsquo;s myriad of energy and environmental sustainability initiatives, this Fellowship model presents a distinct opportunity to increase clean energy and career knowledge, and shape energy efficiencies and sustainability practices.
At the core of this program is developing the next generation of thinkers and doers to help address clean energy and sustainability within education. Roles in educational sustainability require a distinct combination of aptitudes including project management, data analytics, and community development. In addition to the Climate Corps training, this position offers professional development opportunities designed to help provide the range of skills necessary to execute sustainable programs or practices.
The candidate will work on pressing climate and sustainability problems and be relied upon to work toward replicable solutions. A customized mix of on-the-job training, fieldwork, and class time will help the Fellow hone marketable skills and draw important professional connections while making a marked difference in the K-12 community.
<h2>Position Description</h2>
The Climate/Energy Education Fellow will support PNCECE hosted at Centralia College and collaborate with wide-ranging project partners in Lewis and south Thurston counties to support sustainability workforce development pathways that, 1) educate, promote, and facilitate energy initiatives in K-12 programs, 2) facilitate higher education faculty engagement with topics such as building efficiency standards policy, environmental science, clean energy, HVAC and more, through communities of practice, and 3) provide internship opportunities to residents, and high school and college students 18 years of age and older. This innovative programming supported by SEI and the Climate/Energy Education Fellow is designed to create a skilled workforce that will be employable through high-wage clean energy and energy efficiency job opportunities in the region and state.
The Fellow will be supported by SEI, a regional supervisor, and the director of the Pacific NW Center of Excellence for Clean Energy.
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li>Assist the Center of Excellence and local stakeholders in organizing the summer FWEE/STEM program (week of June 24).</li>
<li>Promote training opportunities and resources for high school teachers and recruit participation in the program (Lewis and South Thurston counties).</li>
<li>Assist with recruiting college faculty into the Energy Community of Practice and support program logistics (administrative tasks)</li>
<li>Promote the renewable energy classes in Centralia HS and WF West (on campuses)</li>
<li>Promote careers in energy at outreach events (such as the Lewis County Fair with LC PUD)</li>
<li>In coordination with SEI staff and local high schools; create, launch, and facilitate an energy conservation competition plan between two schools.</li>
<li>Identify partners and site supervisors, such as at Centralia College and Centralia College East, to host two internship opportunities (SEI is the liaison for those interns)</li>
<li>Additional projects assigned through the Center of Excellence for Clean Energy.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>

<li>Preferred: Associate&rsquo;s degree or higher in an energy-related or education field.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills (writing, corresponding, speaking) with the ability to communicate with high school and college faculty, staff, and administrators.</li>

<h4>POSITION SUMMARY</h4>
The ideal candidate for this role will possess political and distributed organizing skills. The Regenerative Agriculture Organizer is responsible for supporting Climate Reality&rsquo;s federal and state policy advocacy campaign,&nbsp;Our Climate Moment&trade;: Let&rsquo;s Get to Work, and its sub-campaign on IRA implementation&nbsp;From Acts to Action. These campaigns are distributed and run through our online platform Reality Hub and our US volunteer-led Chapter network.
The Regenerative Agriculture Organizer is primarily responsible for supporting US Chapters, working groups, and Climate Reality Leaders on education and advocacy around regenerative agriculture as a solution to the climate crisis. This includes drafting materials, hosting meetings/trainings, implementing programming, coordinating with partners, outreach to Congressional contacts, supporting fly-ins with elected officials, and reporting on outcomes.
The Associate will also provide project management and administrative support to Climate Reality teams and assist with the planning and implementation of organizational events as needed.&nbsp; Currently reporting to the Legislative Advocacy Senior Manager on the Global Campaigns team, this role has no direct reports.
This position is within a union-represented collective bargaining unit, and specific terms and conditions of employment will be subject to a collective bargaining agreement between Climate Reality and the union.&nbsp;
This is a hybrid position, currently expected to work from The Climate Reality Office in downtown Washington DC at least two days per week.&nbsp;
This is a grant run position that will end in February 2025.
The salary for the role is $55,000/year.
<h4>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</h4>
<ul>
<li>Supporting the development and implementation of strategies and tactics for education and advocacy with Chapters and Climate Reality Leaders to preserve and implement the climate provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).</li>
<li>Supporting the development and implementation of strategies and tactics and to educate and mobilize climate champions in Congress about federal policy as a vehicle for regenerative agriculture solutions to climate change.</li>
<li>Working with other Climate Reality departments to create content for public education highlighting the role that agriculture can play in solving the climate crisis.</li>
<li>Creating content for and supporting execution of national webinars to educate our volunteers and partners on regenerative farming, policy opportunities, and conservation funding available through the IRA and encourage mobilization.</li>
<li>Engaging Climate Reality leadership, Chapters, and the regenerative agriculture volunteer-based working group in targeted calls, emails to, and meetings with key Members of Congress.</li>
<li>Supporting the development and execution of virtual and in person fly-ins with Members of Congress on agriculture education including logistics, meetings, receptions, and materials.</li>
<li>Providing technical assistance to Chapters, working groups, and Climate Reality Leaders working on regenerative agriculture issues.</li>
<li>Drafting materials such as toolkits, one pagers, FAQs, and educational technical information.</li>
<li>Attending coalition calls to strengthen relationships with national and regional organizations.</li>
<li>Supporting Climate Reality&rsquo;s Climate Underground conference and other events, working with vendors and consultants, and project managing programmatic elements and initiatives.</li>
<li>Reporting regularly on metrics, impacts, lessons learned, and future recommendations both verbally and in writing.</li>
<li>Supporting and contributing to the ongoing improvement of our operations and enrichment of our culture, for example by serving on ad hoc or ongoing work groups, assisting with the onboarding and training of colleagues, and participating in efforts to assess, refine, and strengthen our culture and practices.</li>

<h2>Position Overview &amp; Description</h2>
Buildings are the most rapidly growing source of greenhouse gas emissions in Washington state. In 2019 the Washington Clean Buildings bill was signed into law and later expanded in 2022. The objective is to lower costs and pollution from fossil fuel consumption in the state&rsquo;s existing covered buildings and multifamily buildings. The law also provides incentives to encourage building owners to make energy efficiency improvements earlier than required.
In Lewis County, there are 66 Tier 1 buildings of 90,000 square feet or more that are required to meet the Washington State Clean Buildings Standards by 2027. Currently, building owners lack knowledge and information about free services available and the implementation steps needed to ultimately have their facilities comply with the standard. The Building Energy Efficiency Fellow will undertake an outreach and building performance scope to support Lewis County building owners&rsquo; efforts to meet the WA State Clean Building Performance Standards. Additionally, this Fellow will be working with local utilities and their customers, including Centralia College, to support their efforts to comply with the new state law.
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
With support and guidance from multiple technical partners, the Building Energy Efficiency Fellow will&nbsp;undertake a building performance scope and help craft a work plan to support Lewis County building owners&rsquo; efforts to meet the Clean Building Performance Standard. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
<ul>
<li>Outreach to building owners including&nbsp;creating and&nbsp;providing resources with information regarding compliance, timeline, mapping, incentives&nbsp;and materials to share with their building occupants.</li>
<li>Direct resource support to aid building owner compliance, including: Assistance with gathering data to identify building Energy Use Index (EUIs) and EUIT,&nbsp;creating a package of templates for documentation that sites are required to submit for compliance, and offering remote support to organizations in completing their required documentation 4-6 hours per customer for up to 20 customers.</li>
<li>Develop Operations and Maintenance (O&amp;M) plans as required by the WA Clean Building Standard&nbsp;</li>
<li>Development of Energy Management plans as required by the WA Clean Building Standard.</li>
<li>Some local travel will be required.</li>
</ul>

<li>Related degree and/or experience in fields related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, data analysis, building efficiency, and construction.</li>
<li>Be comfortable with the basic functions of Google Office Suite, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Be an organized self-starter and have excellent time management skills.</li>
