<h2>Position Overview</h2>
The Association for Energy Affordability (AEA) West Coast is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven fellow to join our talented database team. This role will assist our database team by participating in program-specific discovery and strategic planning meetings, assisting with solution implementations, scrubbing and uploading assigned data sets, and creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and other data visualization tools. While we would prefer a fully on-site fellow for this role, a hybrid position may be considered requiring at least 2 days a week in our Emeryville office for a 7-hour workday. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications, and is an excellent starting point for someone interested in learning or further developing their skills in Salesforce or database administration and being a part of a team that is involved in the energy efficiency and green building industry.
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>

<li>Participate in database discovery and internal AEA strategic planning meetings related to the Salesforce platform</li>
<li>Assist with daily database and administrative tasks including but not limited to data entry, maintenance, and duplicate merging</li>
<li>Manage and upload large data sets</li>
<li>Assist with new user setup and onboarding training</li>
<li>Create and update database support documentation, data standards, and program workflow tutorials</li>
<li>Assist program teams with record updates, report requests, and troubleshooting</li>
<li>Other independent projects and program-specific duties as assigned</li>

Impact, Monitoring & Evaluation Manager

Do you love gardening or being outdoors?&nbsp;<a href="https://www.seiinc.org/" target="">SEI</a>&nbsp;is seeking emerging education professionals to join our&nbsp;<a href="https://www.climatecorps.org/cceo-fellowship.html">Climate Corps Education Outside</a>&nbsp;(CCEO) AmeriCorps cohort to advance science and eco-literacy in public elementary schools by activating school gardens as a learning laboratory for environmental education.
CCEO&rsquo;s program objectives are to:

<li>Spark children&rsquo;s interest in science</li>
<li>Increase children&rsquo;s environmental stewardship knowledge</li>
<li>Develop children&rsquo;s connection with the natural world</li>
<li>Improve children&rsquo;s attitude towards vegetables</li>
</ul>
CCEO is an&nbsp;11.5-month,&nbsp;full-time (40 hours per week)&nbsp;fellowship program starting on August 19th and concluding at the end of July. This program offers emerging environmental educators extensive professional development and training as they advance outdoor science education in Bay Area public schools. While we encourage Fellows to continue the Fellowship for a second term to provide a level of consistency to our school partners, it is not required.
As a CCEO Fellow, you will be placed at a public elementary school and serve as the garden educator of that site. Fellows teach 10-16 garden and science lessons per week on Mondays through Thursdays to students in grades K-5 in the on-campus outdoor garden classroom using the provided CCEO curriculum. Fridays are designated for cohort-wide training and site administration. You will also maintain the outdoor garden classroom and work to engage the larger school community in the space. As part of a cohort of approximately 30 CCEO Fellows, you will participate in a year-long training and professional development program designed to support you in your role. Over the summer, you will work to improve curriculum and program resources, maintain your outdoor classroom, and participate in other program projects. Work site locations include North/Western San Francisco, &nbsp;South/Eastern San Francisco, Northern San Mateo County, and Southern San Mateo County.
CCEO Fellows serve a high percentage of low-income children and many English-language learners. Fellows must be committed to social justice and have cultivated or be willing to cultivate a lens of cultural humility, intersectionality, and belonging. While the field of environmental education has a long way to go, we strive for equity and inclusivity for Fellows, program staff, schools, and students.
<h4>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</h4>
I. Learning &amp; Teaching Outdoors&nbsp;
CCEO Fellows provide garden-based lessons that help students practice science and connect to the natural world. As a CCEO Fellow, you will:
<ul>
<li>Prepare for and teach multiple lessons per day to various grade levels, which may include Special Day Classes</li>
<li>Create a safe and positive outdoor classroom culture</li>
<li>Apply a lens of cultural humility to all teaching and learning with students</li>
<li>Adapt and implement the provided CCEO curriculum for your school site</li>
<li>Collaborate with teachers to integrate indoor and outdoor learning experiences</li>
<li>Coordinate harvesting, cooking, and eating in the garden with students as part of your lessons</li>
</ul>
II. Outdoor Classroom Design&nbsp;
CCEO Fellows develop and maintain inviting, educational, and productive garden classrooms. As a CCEO Fellow, you will:

<li>Collaborate with your school community to maintain and improve the school garden</li>
<li>Plant and maintain an edible vegetable garden</li>
<li>Plant and maintain perennial plants for student exploration and long-term garden habitat</li>
<li>Perform regular maintenance tasks such as weeding, watering, harvesting, and pest control</li>
<li>Develop garden infrastructure to support learning outcomes</li>
<li>Purchase garden supplies and instructional materials using the provided site budget</li>
</ul>
III. Community Engagement&nbsp;
CCEO Fellows build strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, communicate about their work, and identify and support needs in the school community. As a CCEO Fellow, you will:

<li>Represent and manage the Climate Corps Education Outside program at your school</li>
<li>Build strong relationships with community members to serve the needs of the school and students</li>
<li>Spread awareness of the program through conversations, presentations, photos, blogging, newsletters, bulletin board displays, etc.</li>
<li>Engage parent and community volunteers in the garden&nbsp;</li>
<li>Seek out grants and donations to support the garden space</li>
</ul>
IV. Professional Development&nbsp;
CCEO Fellows participate in bi-monthly program training sessions to support their growth as educators. As a CCEO Fellow, you will:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Attend and actively participate in training sessions focused on building your teaching, gardening, and community engagement skills</li>
<li>Engage in quarterly lesson observations with your Regional Supervisor to discuss and implement feedback</li>
</ul>
V. Site Administration&nbsp;
CCEO Fellows track data about program implementation at their school site, which is integral to demonstrating impact to funders. As a CCEO Fellow, you will support organizational data collection by:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Tracking and inputting individual student attendance</li>
<li>Tracking and inputting &nbsp;completed lessons with groups of students</li>
<li>Collecting and inputting data related to volunteer engagement and grantseeking</li>
<li>Administering pre- and post-student assessments at the beginning and end of the school year</li>
</ul>
<h4>COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS</h4>

<li>A living allowance stipend of $3,092 per month (pre-tax amount), for a total stipend of up to $35,000 over 11.5 months.</li>

Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required for the duration of the fellowship. Term  This is a 2-year fellowship with an anticipated start date between July 1 and September 1, 2024.  Overall Function  The Atkinson Postdoctoral Fellow will develop a model to evaluate the food and nutrition provisioning implications of prospective commercial fisheries targeting mesopelagic (midwater) marine fishes and zooplankton for use in aquaculture feeds (e.g., fishmeal), and conduct a trade-off analysis of climate mitigation and food production goals from such fisheries. Specifically, the fellow will calculate the fishmeal production potential from fisheries in 1-2 geographies (potentially the California Current, Humboldt Current, and/or the North Atlantic), and calculate the potential protein and micronutrient yield of aquaculture species portfolios reflecting different management goals (e.g., maximize protein, maximize specific nutrients, maximize profit). This analysis would be integrated with ongoing modeling of the carbon sequestration potential of mesopelagic species, to enable a trade-off analysis. The fellow will determine the optimum level of harvest of mesopelagic species in each geography that could support food security provisioning and minimize disruption of carbon sequestration. This model and trade-off analysis will be developed into one or more academic journal articles, as well as policy briefs and communication materials to share with national and international fishery management bodies, industry representatives, and climate leaders.  The fellow will work with Dr. Julia Mason, Social-ecological Systems Scientist and Dr. Mattias Cape, Marine Biogeochemical Scientist at EDF, and Dr. Eugene Won, a fish biologist and aquaculture specialist at Cornell University. The fellow will be part of a cohort of postdoctoral and research fellows at EDF, and will collaborate closely with research partners at Cornell University as well as other research institutions. Unfortunately, relocation assistance is not available for this role.In addition, candidates for this role should be comfortable with international travel, as the position may involve travel to support New Energy Nexus’s work in the Global South.<h3>CORE RESPONSIBILITIES</h3>Program Oversight and Strategic Leadership<ul> <li>Provide strategic leadership and oversight to a portfolio of entrepreneur support programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. </li> <li>Guide the entire program lifecycle from ideation to scaling, even amid organizational restructuring and evolving team dynamics. </li> <li>Leverage experience in deploying technology and entering new markets, aligning programs with global market needs and trends with the ability to navigate a changing regulatory and funding landscape</li> <li>Translate the strategic vision into actionable plans for program teams. </li> <li>Navigate ambiguity and guide teams to optimize collaboration and efficiency.</li> </ul>Program Quality and Impact<ul> <li>Oversee impact reporting and M&amp;E to ensure the capture of data and metrics that drive continuous improvement of program impact and service delivery as well as provide accurate reporting to funders</li> <li>Under the direction of the Managing Director, work with the Head of Partnerships, Events, and Brand to lead program design and evaluation for the purpose of securing new funding and supporting program renewal</li> </ul>Seasoned Team Leadership and Mentorship<ul> <li>Provide strong leadership and mentorship to program leads, setting a high standard for excellence in program execution. </li> <li>Support the professional growth and development of team members and foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture. </li> <li>Address operational and personnel issues within program teams promptly and effectively.</li> <li>Create a positive and productive work environment where challenges are met with solutions and teamwork.</li> </ul>Strategic Leadership<ul><li>Develop and articulate a clear and compelling strategic vision for a portfolio of programs to build an inclusive innovation ecosystem to support diverse entrepreneurs and a just and equitable clean energy transition in CA and beyond.</li></ul><ul> <li>Develop our ramps and career pathways programming for innovators and entrepreneurs in disadvantaged and frontline communities.</li> <li>Work with our labor and industry partners to implement workforce training partnerships that support the acceleration and deployment of climate solutions alongside the creation of high-quality family-supporting jobs.</li> <li>Provide effective leadership by offering clear and purposeful guidance to program teams.</li> </ul>Requirements<h3>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE  FOR THE ROLE</h3><ul> <li>Strong dedication to New Energy Nexus's mission, showcasing a profound understanding and alignment with organizational goals</li> <li>8-10 years of extensive experience in climate tech acceleration, deployment and supporting clean energy entrepreneurs, including a minimum of 5 years in a Senior Director role</li> <li>8-10 years of experience in developing and overseeing a portfolio of innovative and impactful programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives</li> <li>Proven track record in successfully navigating programs from ideation through fundraising, implementation, and scaling</li> <li>Engineering degree or related science and technology background</li> <li>Adept at evaluating emerging technologies and navigating the challenges associated with bringing innovative solutions to market</li> <li>Ability to assess program effectiveness, make data-driven decisions, and drive continuous improvement of program outcomes</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in securing program funding through diverse channels, including state and federal government and/or philanthropy</li> <li>Expertise in developing and managing program budgets, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring financial sustainability</li> <li>Exceptional leadership and management skills, providing effective guidance and supervision to program leads while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.</li> <li>Strong writing and public speaking skills</li> <li>Willingness and excitement to collaborate with external partners and travel regularly for speaking engagements as a New Energy Nexus ambassador worldwide</li> </ul>Benefits<h3>BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION</h3>Competitive compensation of $150 - $175K annually plus generous benefits including, medical, dental, vision, unlimited PTO, paid holidays and 401(K)<h3>TO APPLY, TIMELINE, AND PROCESS</h3><ul> <li>Submit your resume, cover letter  and responses to our application questions. </li> <li>Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until filled. </li> <li> Interview process: Qualified applicants will participate in a series of interviews via Zoom.
