We want you to join us! </div><div> </div><div>As the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will collaborate closely with our technical, operations, facilities, and lab teams to establish and enhance a top-tier safety program and ethos throughout our expanding enterprise. Your primary responsibilities will encompass spearheading the formulation and ongoing refinement of safety protocols for Via's headquarters, facilities, and laboratory environments.. You will function as Via's foremost authority on EHS regulations and optimal methodologies. This position presents an exceptional opportunity for a candidate poised to structure and initiate an EHS management framework within a burgeoning startup context, while also being eager to actively implement EHS protocols and benchmarks.</div> <h3>Responsibilities include:</h3><ul><li>Monitor compliance to regulations, policies, standards and procedures; run compliance audits and internal audits, including post-assessment summaries and corrective action plans. </li><li>Analyze EHS trends. Identify opportunities and develop plans for improvements. </li><li>Develop and run the root cause and corrective action process for EHS reported incidents. Support management in investigations of failures and accidents. Advise management on corrective actions required. </li><li>Identify, build and update key EHS training and requirements. Track and coordinate EHS training for Via personnel and contractors as needed. </li><li>Maintain a high level of EHS awareness among personnel through communication, training and promoting involvement in EHS programs.</li><li>Ensure EHS documentation is updated and available onsite. </li><li>Maintain EHS permits and licenses in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations for all areas of Via operations.</li><li>Assist facilities expansion project by communicating safety requirements for all spaces in new building (office, pilot plant, prototyping)</li><li>Develop and implement safety procedures for facility maintenance activities, including equipment repair and chemical handling.</li><li>Collaborate with the safety committee to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.</li><li>Oversee the proper storage and handling of hazardous materials within facilities.</li><li>Maintain emergency response procedures, including evacuation plans and first aid training.</li><li>Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities for regulatory compliance.</li><li>Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to facility safety.</li></ul><h3>The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these qualifications:</h3><ul><li>Minimum of 4 years of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) experience, focusing on industrial manufacturing environments and chemistry wet lab environments.</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field is preferred.</li><li>Proven track record in EHS, with comprehensive knowledge of Federal, State, and local EHS laws, regulations, codes, and best management practices.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to create and document procedures, processes, and audits, with experience in developing and implementing EHS Management Systems being advantageous.</li><li>Possession of certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is desirable, or a willingness to pursue certification with company sponsorship.</li><li>Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.</li><li>A collaborative team player who enjoys troubleshooting and critical thinking.</li><li>Occasional travel (less than 10% of the time) may be required.</li><li>Candidates must have U.S. work authorization for this role.</li></ul><h3>We Offer:</h3><ul><li>Competitive compensation package, including equity options</li><li>Medical, Dental &amp; Vision Insurance</li><li>Disability &amp; Life Insurance</li><li>401(k)</li><li>12 weeks paid Parental  Leave</li><li>Onsite Gym</li><li>Flexible PTO policy</li><li>10 days paid company holidays</li></ul> <div>At Via, we value and prioritize diversity of thought, access, and experiences, and are an equal opportunity employer by choice.
