Core Responsibilities<ul><li>Review, manage and approve all accounts payable and company expenses to ensure financial projections are up to date and to produce real-time (monthly) budget-to-actual reporting for management and board review</li><li>Design and build a company-wide budgeting process that enables efficient budget forecasting, tracking, and updating, including development of project and portfolio based budgets; recommend and implement new software and/or bookkeeping tools to improve efficiency</li><li>Develop short term and long term company forecasts to provide financial viability of projects for board review and approval</li><li>Build, manage and maintain all long term financial business models to quickly and accurately run evolving scenarios for management, investor, and non-dilutive grant submissions, including scenario planning across numerous variables and situations</li><li>Build, manage, and maintain a carbon credit inventory and tracking system to support credit generation, credit sales, and credit deliveries over time, including the selection of appropriate tools or software to support this effort</li><li>Provide budgeting and financial analysis support in service to Planetary’s broader organization and teams as needed</li><li>Increase budgeting transparency both internally and externally to encourage more distribution of power and accountability across the organization</li><li>Maintain responsibility for investor and grantmaker financial reporting </li></ul> About You<ul><li>College Diploma or University Degree with specialization in commerce, finance, accounting or related field; CPA is a plus</li><li>5+ years of relevant professional experience, working with a startup is considered an asset</li><li>Have strong knowledge of accounting rules and conventions</li><li>A self-directed and organized learner, that is obsessed with details; Is skilled in the employ of best practices for use of excel and/or other modeling tools, including model construction, scenario planning tools, and presentation/report formatting</li><li>Have an optimistic, persistent and driven working style, pride yourself on responsiveness and are excited about contributing to collective successes</li><li>Always looking to learn new things, curious about climate change mitigation technologies, and passionate about our ocean</li><li>Ability to overlap the majority of your work day with the PST time zone</li><li>You love Excel and have experience building custom budgeting sheets capable of running scenarios</li><li>Experience with QuickBooks Online and Google Sheets is considered an asset</li></ul> About Planetary Planetary is committed to supporting and valuing the diversity of our team as well as the diversity of the clients and communities we serve. We work with some of the world's most ambitious climate leaders such as Microsoft, Swiss Re, and the World Economic Forum First Movers Coalition.</div>Your role &amp; responsibilities As a Founder Associate you play a pivotal role in supporting Hannes, our CEO in optimizing his resource towards maximal benefit for the company and its stakeholders. Your unique blend of strong analytical skills, open-mindedness and attention to detail will be instrumental in supporting Hannes’s activities. You will be responsible for making time, information, and decision processes more effective while making sure that decisions are implemented. You will furthermore connect work streams that would otherwise remain siloed while keeping an eye on the organizational agenda. Next to Hannes you will be closely working with our COO, Lucie.   What you'll do Strategic Advisor:<ul><li>Work closely with the CEO and COO to provide strategic guidance and insights. </li><li>Conduct research and analysis to support data-driven decision-making. </li><li>Support the CEO on his key accounts across stakeholder groups (investors, clients, strategic partnership).</li></ul>Management: <ul><li>Oversee key projects and initiatives from inception to completion. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met. </li><li>Monitor project timelines and budgets. </li><li>Support the quarterly OKR process. </li><li>Manage and triage the CEO’s schedule and ensure his availability for the company’s core objectives. </li><li>Arrange and coordinate the CEO’s travel itineraries.</li><li>Provide comprehensive travel plans including preparation of briefing of partners or suggestions of potential clients. </li></ul>Communication: <ul><li>Prepare and deliver presentations or reports as needed. </li><li>Take meeting minutes and follow up on action items.</li><li>Handle emails, phone calls, and other correspondence, ensuring timely responses. </li></ul>Data Analysis:<ul><li>Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.</li><li>Draft and proofread documents, presentations, and reports as needed and brief Hannes appropriately. </li></ul> What you bring to the table   <ul><li>Perseverance and assertiveness paired with valuing and supportive attitude. </li><li>Self-awareness: you know your values, goals, strengths, and weaknesses and you are eager to learn. </li><li>2+ years of experience in a Start-up in a similar role, management consulting or other high-growth environment. </li><li>Ability to bring supportive structure to uncertainty fostering creativity and measurable results. </li><li>Affinity to numbers and large structured and unstructured data sets (you like Spreadsheets). </li><li>Outstanding organizational skills with an exceptional attention to detail.  </li><li>Proven project management skills. </li><li>Excellent communication skills and a very good command of English and German.
